Are you quoting Ms. Clinton? After the fact the reasons do not matter to those effected, but for basic human understanding, I am asking for suggestions. How does one see the whole point and purpose of their lives to be slaughtering innocents in vain? I guess it seems like a signficant act, but it does not change anything in the balance of powers.
I've had numerous friends who live in Europe fly through Istanbul on Turkish Air and say they felt incredibly unsafe in that airport. As Brussels showed, the "soft side" of airports - taxi waiting areas, passenger pickup/drop off, anything before security - is an easy target for terrorists.
Whoever it was, this whole thing is a horrible tragedy. What a total pointless waste. What a shame. It could be Kurds, Armenians, Greeks, one of dozens of Islamic terror groups, or something different. What a horrible shame.
Armenians? Greeks? Why not throw in the salvation army as a possibility while you are busy deflecting?
To be fair Armenians will always have a motive with Turkey, given Turkey did a holocaust like genocide of their people 100 years ago. Yahoo is reporting that nearly 50 are dead now.
It is likely ISIS that is responsible, but there are 2 or 3 other groups that could be behind this. Another terrible act of terrorism.
So when was the last time Armenians committed a terror attack of this kind in Turkey? There has not been any such thing in the last 30 years at least.
Maybe it doesn't ever matter. But some humans look to understand events of violence. To non-Tallanvors: turkey doesn't strike me as a sensible Islamist target, at first blush. They have not been moving in a "western" direction lately. But I could be missing something obvious.
I don't think they're being very discriminate as to where they're choosing their targets any more. There are still a ton of tourists who visit Istanbul.
Cinton just said "radical jihadism" Can someone explain this term and if she accepts some form of moderate Jihadism as opposed to the radical type?
Oh look, more concern about words. That's the lesson we should all take from this. What exact words do politicians use because had she just said "jihadism" without the wordy adjective, ISIS would've magically disappeared.
Typically when I read a statement from the person who is very likely to be the next president I like to understand it. You understand what it means and the purpose for her saying it? Please explain it and show how dumb I am. Islamism Radical Islamism Jihadism Radical Jihadism Radical Islamic Terrorism I didn't make up any of these words but they all seem to be used to describe people blowing other people up. I think it is fair to ask why a top US leader is using one or the other without butthurt being thrown back. She didn't say workplace violence.
Seems like a tautology to me. Like "deadly murder" or something. Thank you. Neither has Pakistan. Might be one of the most "non-Western" countries. That doesn't stop Islamists from detonating themselves there over and over and over again.
