This guy is horrible. He has had 2 strikes on every hitter he faced and only gotten Choo out. He has hit 3 with a 2 strike count on each of them. Rangers lucking into another win it looks like. Rain delay retired Chapman and they didn't have to face him.

    Possibly on the first one.

No chance he'd relieve Feldman after less than 5 if he's cruising, or else there would have been no case at all for starting him over Devenski.

If they had it their way, they would have rather continued facing him in the 9th in the pouring rain.

I'm sure they wouldn't have mind the walks, but if I'm at the plate with Chapman throwing a wet baseball, I might cry.

Guys, we have almost no shot at catching the Rangers...if they play 0.500 ball for the rest of the season, they still win 92 games. For us to get to 93 wins, we'd have to win about 63% of our remaining games. So, not only do we need the Rangers to go under 0.500 for the rest of the year, but we have to play at a 101 win season rate (which still remains to be seen if our hot streak is sustainable).

It's better that the Yankees lose so we can distinguish ourselves from the rest of the WC hopefuls.

One hard hit ball, 4 runs scored. Unbelievable.

They're winning games with a majority of their starters injured. You can probably expect some regression because of their one run games, but you're right, it's not looking too good to catch up.

I haven't really focused on the WC contenders too much as of late, until I looked at the standings just now. Was actually shocked to see how close we are to that second spot. Toronto with a loss tonight, taking 2/3 from Kc was nice.

Last stats I saw the Rangers were 7 above their expected wins, and they had the most net lucky plays in baseball.

They are literally the most luckiest team in the majors

#Yankees Kirby Yaytes is the first pitcher to hit three batters in the ninth inning of a game since #Braves Ray Boggs on Sept 17, 1928.

    From @theaceofspaeder. Wow

That is not a good thing in terms of catching them.

It's still very possible, I think they were as much as 9 games back in July last year. Even with how this season has gone for us, people don't understand how long baseball season is
