I was thinking the same thing. Morey may not be able to sign his first or even third option, so need to find fits for MDA offense and Bzdelik defense. Can handle the ball, pass, create for himself/others and can defend any of the wing positions. Still only 25.
He needs to go back to Indiana, or maybe to the Magic/Spurs/Warriors. He's the type of guy, who if properly motivated, in the right locker room and with the right coaching staff, can be a very good player. That's not Houston though, not this year. But hell if he'd come for 5 million or under why not go for it.
Well, in fact he plays elite defense, if not elite, certainly very good. Also, keep in mind that his numbers these past season/s are a bit down cause with coach Bud they play and manage players in a Spurs way so, less minutes for everyone, more ball movement, less shots per player. He also expanded his game and now he plays more outside. Horford is a better defender than Whiteside, he's more smart and solid, Hassan is a big presence and a better shot blocker but well, being a shot blocker doesn't mean being a good defender, Chuck Hayes was a fantastic defender and he didn't block ****. A lot of times is better to contest a shot and grab the rebound than block the shot for the highlights giving the ball back to your opponent.
This is a fair take, i'm a big Horford fan and in fact i think the same. Btw it's obvious to me that if we're going to sign him is to play him at the 4 with Capela at the 5 to start games, than you finish with Horford at 5 and Ariza, Durant or whoever it'll be at the 4.
Good scorer/shooter, bad defender, restircted free agent, Orlando is going to match, maybe not if you thorw him the max which is maybe/probably too much for him.
Some of those guys should be availbe via s&t.. Bev n Ariza is most likely gone.. I hope there worth something
In fact i think Fournier may be available for a sign & trade, no sure they want him that bad since Vogel wants good defenders, maybe they plan to play Gordon at the 3 but again, i have not read anything about this :/
Orlando has a lot of cap space, right ? And no star (except maybe Dwight) is going to play there. I would love to have fournier but they will match any contract.
