I agree ! To me he's not a true closer still a setup man. He's been in jams here since his promotion like you said. He's just not that filthy lights out guy. Good pitcher I just think he's pitching out of his comfort zone.

I saw it, no one has to tell me it happened, i saw it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will he do the same in that situation????

Yeah, it was a good swing by Nava. He did a great job of hitting it inside out.

1-2-3 double plays are the best.

Guys, you do realize that he struck out two hitters on FILTHY pitches, right?

Literally the only bad pitch he made was to Nava.

It may be more if they somehow tie it up.

It's their only trip to NY, so they have to try and get games in when they get a chance.

How many "true closers" are in the game then? After maybe the top 10-12 guys, everyone gets in jams periodically and isn't "flighty lights out" all the time. Hell, even a guy like Rosenthal who has been great is having a rough time right now. "True closer" seems like it means "top 10 closer" to most people...which yeah, I'd love to have too. And hopefully Giles can eventually be that kind of guy...but doesn't seem like it'll happen this year

i was watching the top of the 9th when it got delayed, but saw nothing before...announcing crew and banister were b****ing big time because they called it right after girardi complained/chapman couldn't hit the strike zone. not sure if they had a legit gripe or not. read some tweets that it was raining equally steadily for the previous 3 innings, others said it was pouring way harder in the top of the inning.

Familia is 26/26 in save opportunities and he seems to get into a jam every other game.

Had a 3.9+ ERA and 1.3+ whip a couple weeks ago

Ouch that guy is terrible, and starts with a 3 and 1 count to Choo, that is 2 men on base with no outs

I thought Harris was fine. Ran into some bad luck.

Nothing really hard hit and he didn't walk anybody... And if he can harness that cutter, he really has a chance to take this job and run with it.

I think the mental makeup is just fine....which is always the first thing that gets tested when taking over the closer spot. He's had a bit of trial by fire and come through.
