It's oddly reassuring that Reed is having a typical awful start to his career... Rather than a start like White had. Numbers suggest that guys who start like White did never ever come close to reaching that sort of level again.
I said it when he was called up...he should bat 8th or 9th. Too much pressure where he is currently batting.
The trend of other players has nothing to do with Reed.. not to mention, 2 isn't a trend, and Correa came up and mashed somewhere in there.
Against KC Reed didn't look lost, but right now it seems as if the lack of a first hit and pressure getting to him
It's only a trend if you ignore all the prospects that came up and did well - Springer, Correa, McCullers, etc. And that's how prospects worse - a lot of them fail, no matter how highly touted.
I cant figure out if Reed is nervous or overmatched, but sure would have liked to have seen Marwin there. I understand that Hinch is trying to show confidence in Reed but that moment looked to big for Reed.
It's so disapointing that A.J. Reed's first 12 plate appearances at the MLB level haven't resulted in 12 home runs.
Im talking about the trend of being hesitant and looking unconfident. That's exactly how Singleton was...and how White was outside of his two week hot stretch. And Im referring to our 1B situation...thats why I specifically mentioned previous 1B (Singleton and White).
