you think Ariza/Bev just for Brandon Knight or Bledsoe is enough?

I live in DC, and while I agree they don't want to have to max him out, they are abandoning their pursuit of KD and focusing on building around Wall and Beal. If we max him on an offer sheet we'll be wasting our time; they'll match.

For whatever it's worth, Morey's Twitter indicates he's presently in LA. Not exactly a huge tell, considering it's the unofficial NBA capital. But for those of you worried about a Durant-only focus, this should calm those fears.

+1... and guess who he played with at UT?? (Some kid named Kevin)

I was thinking we could get him on a 2 year deal for $10M ($5M per year) and we have a team option on the 2nd year. It's good $$$$ for him and wouldn't break our bank. If he plays really well, he is set for a new pay day next year when the cap goes up even more.

    No hate. Horford is good.

But is he good enough to be the second best player on a championship team? You say yes. I say no. Maybe third best, maybe.

Next question. Is he a good enough defender at the 5 to anchor the defense, be effective against the pick and roll and control the defensive glass? You say yes. I say no. He'd be a good second guy in the middle defensively, locking things down against opponents reserve units. But not as the primary man in the middle.

So, in my opinion, what you would have in Horford is a guy that has been wanting to play 4 for years. He may be a stretch 4 but he's not a small ball 4. And he's not good enough to be the second option on a championship team because he's basically a spot up shooter. But you want to commit to a starting salary for him in the $26 million range. When we're still lacking that dominant 5 that locks down the paint and defensive glass. And he rebounds at the same rate as Terrence Jones....and rarely does the man go to the free throw line.

You wanna pay Horford $110+ over the next 4 seasons to give us what DMo or Marbin Williams will just as likely give us more of for maybe half the price.

    I don't see it.

What about DJ Augustine? Kid seems very natural at PG. Nice shot, great passer with vision. This isn't a flashy pick up, but I think a solid one for DAs offense. Some might not agree with me here, but I think he could be a starter..and be very good at it.

We wouldn't want Horford to be the 2nd best on the team, we'd want him to be the 3rd best or even 4th best while we get a PG to be the 2nd best and hopefully a legitimate PF as our other "best". Al Horford's is one of the top shooters at Center as the dude can also decently shoot 3's. The fact that he can play PF as well also makes him a double threat and gives a team more flexibility, especially for a shooting team like the Rockets with D'Antoni's offensive scheme. His defense is good enough to handle his own. We shouldn't focus on having a guy take care of the paint by himself as that clearly didn't work with Howard lol. But would I pay $25 mil for Horford? Probably not, $18 to $20 mil though? Maybe. Don't get me wrong though, I would much rather have Whiteside over Horford, but I just don't see Whiteside leaving Miami. So Horford in my opinion is our only other legitimate option.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not a big name, but could be very helpful. Denver just got another young PG, so he could come cheap. I hope they give him a look.

He DOES NOT want to play center...period.

He wants to play power forward alongside a big center who will take the load off him on the defensive end so he can play more on the offensive end.

So that means he basically wants to be a stretch 4........in a double big power lineup. Does that sound like what we want to pay$26+ million a year for?

Yeah. Except you can't fire him and get rid of the $110 million you owe him when he tells you, No. Or he lays down on you......like Dwight did. Or he refuses to play defense.......like James did. You still owe them the money.

Horford wants to play alongside a big like DJ or Howard. That's why I think a Horford sign and trade for Blake may make a lot of sense. Or perhaps Atlanta poaching Whiteside.

If we can do a sign & trade with Horford for a legitimate PF I'd be down. But, I'm just going with what we have to work with in FA this season.

Also...we could just suck a$$ the next 3 years like Philly and get top 3 picks all 3 years and restart?

Start Beasley at SF? Nah, he fits better as a PF. I'd honestly be okay with Dudley starting at SF with Ariza backing him up. Beasley's also got to be our 6th man. Give him a green light. We'd need another creator off the bench though. Courtney Lee?

Idk, I thought he looked great as a legit aggressive scorer last season. As for Courtney Lee? I'm not paying $14 mil for him lol. I'd take Allen Crabbe for him and get him cheaper too.
