Morey wants to add another star piece... Would not surprise me one bit if this is the play. I think he could work well in MDA scheme. Add Conley and get shooters...

I have multiple people telling me that the Rockets will try to sign some of the best free agents. But they are looking at anyone that they think might make them a better team, not just the best players. My sources tell me they are trying to sign players that they think will make them better.
Morey will have to look at the RFAs available this summer if he either 1. do not want to wait til next year to cash his chips or 2. wants to gamble on getting a future star. So who will Morey want to overpay in the Restricted Free Agency market? Matthew Delladova Andre Drummond Harrison Barnes Ian Clark Festus Ezeli Jordan Clarkson Dion Waiters Evan Fournier Maurice Harkless Allen Crabbe Bradley Beal Would you be okay with Morey offering the likes of Clarkson, Barnes, Fournier a max offer sheet in hopes that their respective teams balk?

Would like to see us go after Brandon Rush. Really good shooter who is a passable defender. Buried at the end of the GSW bench but really should have gotten those Barnes minutes in the Finals.
What about DJ Augustine as a PG? I never hear his name and he has moved around a lot, but the guy produces when given steady minutes. His numbers are good. He can handle it and score, create for others, and play off the ball and hit spot up jumpers. Gets to the FT line due to frequent penetrations off pick and rolls. I know he has had TO issues in the past, but has shown improvement, maybe he could be a cheap find this offseason. Am I crazy for thinking that? Just asking the question. I just want us to get capable players in here that can do things on their own when needed. Keep the defense honest.
1. You can't overpaid Drummond, he is a max player and no way Detroit will let him go. 2. Same as Bradley Bael. 3. If GSW will be out of Durant race, they probably will retain Branes or there will be many other teams will pay him max. Not the Rockets though. 4. All the others won't fit the Rockets EXCEPT Crabbe, he is young and developed well the last couple years, 14-16 per as a super sub is something that we can think about and of course, we could even think about to let him start and trade away Ariza to get more assets and younger.
The writing is on the wall. What kind of superstar you think will want to come here to play with this shltty lineup?
There has never been a Savior, superstar coming is good, what does it matter if no superstar will come? Too many fans r with a pair of gloomy, really Disgusting
Even though it appears Durant has no interest in the Rockets, I find it hard to believe that Morey would do anything in this weak free agent class that would prevent him from trying again next summer. If they could make a move to improve the team this year without locking up too much cash long-term, it might open the door a little more next year. Something like trading for Greg Monroe, who may very likely opt out next year, might fit the bill. I don't think even if he didn't opt out that it would prevent them from offering Durant the max next year. They just couldn't take on any additional long-term contracts this summer.
