Off the top of my head, I will take JR Richard over most/if not all of your starters.

Good point, and i am an JR Richard fan, but if you look at the numbers with Don Wilson and others, the ERA and whip are better from Wilson, Scott and others.

By name, yes, i go with JR, but he really had 5 great years for us, others had 7 or more great years for the Astros, that is the difference, i think from the group ahead of him. Also, Don Wilson and Dierker played with very bad Astros teams, JR was in good teams instead.

You left out Mitch Meluskey as catcher.

Melausky may have the best year for a catcher hitting .300 and an OBP of .401, and 14 homers in 400 at bats, All Star numbers, but he only did it that year, 2000.

Ashy had many more years catching, never a year like that one, not even close, but the difference is the years in favor a Ashby.

Catcher is not one of our good positions, nor SS.

What is your criteria for belonging on your team? For example, you credit the longevity with pitchers (not a criticism), yet you have Correa in after around 1 complete season. (for example, Dickie Thon had 2 really good seasons with high WARs - including a 7.2)

In pitchers, i want to give longevity because if we don't, then we have to put Randy Johnson, Don Sutton, Andy Pettite.

Now, at SS, believe me, i am a fan of Dickie Thon, i know him, and met his son once, i really like the guy, he is a real gentleman, and before the beaning, which i saw on TV, he was the real deal.

But Correa is just a talent that only comes once every 15 year, and in 1 year he already second in the all time list in homers.
I am amazed of how good he is playing at SS right now, before i thought that he was going to be moved to SS, but the way he is playing on the field, that is going to be difficult to do now. Bregman better learn 3b quickly, lol

With that lineup, we can do that, Adam Everett is one of the best SS defensively of all time, and had some pop. The thing is that he played 4 full seasons with Astros, other years he did not play much.

yes, but already rookie of the year, hitting 4th for a good team, and the big difference is great improvement on defense at SS. In 171 games, a little more than a year, he already have 24 homers, thats impressive, and 22 steals!!!!
But yes, i understand what your are saying, at the end of the year is going to be only 1 1/2 years playing, but already breaking records for his position????

    C Ivan Rodriguez
    1b Palmeiro
    2b Michael Young
    3b Bell/Beltre
    ss ARod
    lf Al Oliver/Ruben Sierra
    cf Mickey Rivers
    rf Juan Gonzalez

    Rotation

    Hough
    Jenkins
    Kenny Rogers
    Kevin Brown
    Gaylord Perry

    Closer
