I think they just wanted to finish that Dorne storyline quickly because it was very bad, otherwise they might have had Doran working something behind the scenes.
Agreed.. they totally ****ed up Dorne. The books are a lot more interesting and have a couple of interesting story-lines but I see it how it wouldn't make sense to add them to the show.
That's simply what we're saying... she was still very much intent on ruling. She would do it through her kids, but when that was no longer happening, she found ways around it. Now that there are no kids, and the only way she can rule is to be queen, she's damn well going to do it.
Pretty sure she does.. Mad King had wildfyre all over KL. He planed on destroying the entire city. Cersei only burned down Baelor's Sept
Yeah. I mean per Tyrion (by way of Jaime) the Mad King had it stashed under all of the busiest parts of King's Landing, the sept was just one of them. Are they all still there and intact? Don't know for sure, but probably.
Since some of you keep commenting on time-travel and "teleportation devices", I went back to look for some notes I had seen on some of the books addressing this issue.. Here are some book excerpts from GRRM. A Note On Chronology- A Storm of Swords A Song of Ice and Fire is told through the eyes of characters who are sometimes hundreds or even thousands of miles apart from one another. Some chapters cover a day, some only an hour; others might span a fortnight, a month, half a year. With such a structure, the narrative cannot be strictly sequential; sometimes important things are happening simultaneously, a thousand leagues apart. In the case of the volume now in hand, the reader should realize that the opening chapters of A Storm of Swords do not follow the closing chapters of A Clash of Kings so much as overlap them. I open with a look at some of the things that were happening on the Fist of the First Men, at Riverrun, Harrenhal, and on the Trident while the Battle of the Blackwater was being fought at King’s Landing, and during its aftermath… A CAVIL ON CHRONOLOGY- A Dance With Dragons It has been a while between books, I know. So a reminder may be in order. The book you hold in your hands is the fifth volume of A Song of Ice and Fire. The fourth volume was A Feast for Crows. However, this volume does not follow that one in the traditional sense, so much as run in tandem with it. Both Dance and Feast take up the story immediately after the events of the third volume in the series, A Storm of Swords. Whereas Feast focused on events in and around King’s Landing, on the Iron Islands, and down in Dorne, Dance takes us north to Castle Black and the Wall (and beyond), and across the narrow sea to Pentos and Slaver’s Bay, to pick up the tales of Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and all the other characters you did not see in the preceding volume. Rather than being sequential, the two books are parallel … divided geographically, rather than chronologically. But only up to a point. A Dance with Dragons is a longer book than A Feast for Crows, and covers a longer time period. In the latter half of this volume, you will notice certain of the viewpoint characters from A Feast for Crows popping up again. And that means just what you think it means: the narrative has moved past the time frame of Feast, and the two streams have once again rejoined each other. Next up, The Winds of Winter. Wherein, I hope, everybody will be shivering together once again…
Oh of course, I agree with you. She wanted to rule through Tommen. She did not want him dead. Show writers clearly like the feminism revolt angle. I don't mean that jokingly. The show writers have expressed in past articles a strong sense of female empowerment being a central theme of the show. They wanted to do it early with Ros the prostitute. I think once they found out that the books wouldn't need Doran or his son for the final story they decided to just do away with them because the Super Girls team-up of Olenna, Dany and Elaria was more attractive to them. Only thing they don't account for is I don't think many show watchers actually have a linking for the Sand Snakes/Elaria. When she killed Doran and talked about stupid men not ruling them ever again I don't think it engendered any sympathy like the writers wanted it to.
He did stay in the city though at the prompting of Littlefinger who had more information for him that was tied to Jon Arryn's death. If Robert wanted him dead, or wanted war, he never would have let Ned walk out of that room, let alone leave the city.

Interesting. She's heading south and Arya is heading north, so that will happen. Also she is on Arya's kill list, but I can't remember why. Does anyone know?
Generation doesn't matter when it is male vs. female. The son of the first son, which Jon is has priority over any female. Now, being a b*stard, and with no way of proving his heritage right now even if he finds out the truth complicates things. Right now, Jon & Dany have good claims to the throne, as does Gendry if you believe Robert Baratheon to have been the true King of Westeros. It was justtxyank. He called the suicide, and I merely commented on how I liked the theory. Find it interesting that wildfire and the Mountain played their roles in his death though. We should have realized Cersei would be smart enough to keep Tommen far away from the danger of wildfire. Bad p***y was the 3rd one that Olenna shut up before she could speak. Technically, not a Frey serving wench, as he said she wasn't one of theirs, so he was logically thinking she belonged to the Lannisters. The way she looked at Jaime makes me wonder if she heads for Kings Landing for the Lannisters. Definitely don't think there will be much of a battle for Kings Landing. How could there be at this point? Dany's forces are stronger than if the Lannisters still had the Tyrells, and they've switched sides. I'm not sure what Dorne has to offer, but they were the one city that resisted the Dragons before, so they are a good ally I suppose. White Walkers will definitely be the bigger battle moving forward. I think Jon will be able to talk to Dany, and especially with Tyrion there (though he doesn't believe in the White Walkers) will end up fighting together. I think Jon will be left to rule the North and Dany the South. Jon won't care about being King of Westeros if he trusts the person that sits on the Iron Throne. She was near death after having a child, she is supposed to look terrible. Gendry is the rightful Baratheon heir. We know she was still considered able to have children when Tywin was still alive and marrying her to Loras, so she might be able to have more children, though the prophecy tells us she won't. I'm not sure they get married. He definitely isn't invulnerable to fire like Dany after what happened way back in Season 1 (or maybe two) where he got burnt. I assume she meets up with the Brotherhood again, or maybe with Dany.
I wonder if Euron might instead choose to partner with the Lannisters, as Cersei is currently queen, and the chance to partner with Dany is seemingly over. That would at least help extend that battle if Kings Landing had Euron's 1000 ships that were built by the fastest workers of all time.
I said it was a wacky theory. If your getting your panties in a wad about it your looking silly and bring a dick.
It would be strange to introduce Euron so late in the series and not have him make a big impact. Spoiler I wonder if the dragon egg he claimed to have had/has will come into play. With Dany's army so overpowered, you'd think it might have to.
Cersei is weak now. She is queen but the Lannister forces aren't anything special anymore without Tyrell backing. However, potential villains include Euron (though seriously, the Iron Islands didn't have some massive army to begin with and a chunk of them sided with Yara and Theon) and Littlefinger. He assisted the North here, but he's definitely not interested in helping Jon Snow rule as king. I expect that Littlefinger will orchestrate a betrayal of some sort.
Anyone have any idea what he was doing to her? Raping, torturing, mutilating? The nun was screaming and the Mountain wasn't even doing anything at the time.
