That's an oriental cockroach. Look for Roach Motel by Black Flag for $2.97 for a back of 2. Once one side fills up flip to the other side and works 100% if not in one area move to another. A cheap way of getting rid of them is to have left over pasta sauce residue in the container. They climb into that container left upright but can't get out and it fills quickly with those huge roaches.

 

Obviously you know that cockroaches aren't smart enough to feel fear or apprehension. You torturing this one will not do anything to deter others from coming back. Which means that you are just torturing a coackroach because you are a sadistic, disturbed individual.
