Except he actually gets fouled a ton...

Myth... There's more fouls in the playoffs and he actually shot more free throws in the playoffs than regular season last year... He shoots either the same or more in the postseason on avg.

Bwhahaha well of course he doesn't get a lot assisted points, he has the ball over 80% of the times. He only cuts or move without the ball 10% of the times. 5 % he's getting hacked so the freethrows doesn't count as an assisted bucket.

And with him having the ball 80% of the time, well lol he can't assist to himself. Would be nice if he could though.

One more note: please stop making up excuses for his atrocious effort on defense.

It's probably not Harden's fault, not all of his anyway. But you don't need elite creators on the team to assist a good off-ball scorer. What you need is a better offensive system that has MOVEMENT rather than everybody just stands there watching one guy try to create something.

If you think Harden didn't have good offensive talent around him, take a look at the 09-10 Rockets. Our top minutes players are
    Brooks
    Scola
    Ariza
    Battier
    Hayes
    Lowry
    Budinger
    Landry

None of those were elite offensive creators. Only Scola and Brooks could be called good scorers. Yet we managed to be an average offensive team because we had a good system that create offense without relying on one single guy.

A ball dominant guard like Conley, no. A former 6th man for a playoff team, like Lou Williams would be a great fit.

I specifically listed the top scorers primarily cuz they contribute the most points directly, then went into breaking down how they do it and how else they contribute offensively to the team with the %AST.... Those guys don't fall in there and didn't mention Russ cuz well he plays with KD... Whose also already up there.. that's also not sound logic cuz having a high % of unassisted FGs doesn't mean that you drive or that's your elite skill... Skillset or play style can factor into it, but personnel can dictate that or lack thereof.

Anything to insert Lin eh :p

Read my OP.. of course you don't need an elite playmaker or elite ball handler, but at the least you need a quality playmaker or ball handler... You know above average... Yes coaching and a system can help that, but you still need capable personnel.. so once again whose gonna do that for Harden currently?

I don't really get the mention of the 09-10 team.... What's the comparison or point? I agree they did, but they missed the playoffs and thus accomplished even less than this team thanks to Harden, but let's entertain this...

Brooks was a good ball handler and could create his own shot..
Scola could shoot and had a legit post game...
Battier is probably better than all our current 3P shooters...
Bud could shoot it too and athletic in transition..
Lowry was and is a playmaker...
Landry had a mid-range jay and was an above the rim finisher....

That is 100% without a doubt a better supporting cast, then the current 15-16 Rockets... More playmakers, shot creators, and ball handlers. Harden wishes he had personnel like that around him TBH.

Gimme that right now with Harden

    Harden 14-15

    28% assisted... 72% unassisted
    41% of the teams assists.

    Harden isn't a ballhog..

Harden is not perfect, i.e. he is not Dream or LBJ or MJ. He needs a quality roster and coaching staff in order to succeed.

lol you if you can clearly see that the coaching staff and the rest of the team was indeed trash

Try replacing harden with curry and see if the warriors still get to the finals and the rockets still get to the playoffs

How does this stat help Harden? Just shows our lazy ****** "new chin every interview" analytic geek no p**** gettin ass GM failed to build a good team around him and now he's grown a mentality to do whatever he wants and play no defense

This is a joke right? No he's not perfect... Neither are those guys and guess what? They all needed a quality roster to succeed and all had significantly better ones than Harden.

MJ played with probably the greatest supporting cast OAT.

LeBron played with multiple all-stars and future HOFamers.

Dream had it the worst of them all, but he eventually got quality role players around him and a future HOFamer later in his career.

No doubt in my mind that GS still makes the Finals... I think they win it. And Houston with Curry in his place misses the offs.

    Sure....

    Usage Rates:
    Cousins - 35.2%
    Harden - 32.5%
    Curry - 32.0%

Curry has the ball as much as Harden? Say what??

That must be Curry averaged 30ppg to Harden's 29.

Of course that doesn't explain why Harden had 7.5apg as a SG while Curry averaged 6.7apg as a PG.

(As an FYI before you argue Curry played less minutes, they BOTH average 9.5 a/48min).
