SO Minny will have only 8 months from now to completely get rid of him and because they can't wait they want to waste an asset like Rubio? WTF.
And Because he has the idea to get Batum and Durant and Barnes? This is complete delusion and counter productive.
How does he plan to develop his young players if he brings high usg max FA VETS?
How does he plan to lure Durant exactly? Is he crazy?

and he wants to make it a defensive team? Why not instead start by teaching every young player (including KAT) how to play defence and then start planing to conquer the world.

I knew he shouldn't have GM powers. He has already lost it.

Also about Philly..is Rubio being like 4 years too much of a different timeline? Don't think so. if Philly is really planning to have Simmons the sole playmaker and ballhandler of that team then good lord. What about the other players? Who thinks about them and THEIR development? Bigs need pg to develop. Not a pointforward who only knows transition and is just learning the ropes about HC. FFS.

Anyway even with all this...then why isn't Rubio in BKN then? They got capspace to spare and don't have any pg. And no good FA wants to go there.

What? Backup C? Pek can't play. He is heading to medical retirement if he's not traded and if he is traded it will be to get stretched.

 

I would think we have th better chance of landing Rubio if it's down to us and the Bulls.

 

Ish Smith was playing very decent under D'Antoni in Philly. He'd do a hell of alot for Rubio here.

 

Rubio was offered in a package for Jimmy Butler.

I don't know if he is being offered around the league for little in return.

Honestly if Thibs doesn't want him, I am not so sure I want him.

After the disastrous Ty Lawson experiment, I would be very nervous about acquiring Rubio. Dude can't shoot, and he's due to be paid a lot of cash for the next three years. I want someone in the back court with Harden that can shoot the ball and play defense. Rubio is a horrible shooter.

 

He might wind up in BKN. Whomever they can extract the most value from that allows them to march through the summer to Thibs drumbeat.

Don't count out Memphis either.

 

Rubio can drop dimes. Lawson was just passed TF out. Rubio is a safer risk than Lawson ever was IMO.

 

This is about to start moving past the speculation phases. Again, Chicago is still in play for Rubio and Pek. If Rubio comes to houston, Pek may not have to be involved. (Don't know why. This makes no sense, but I'm all for it). Straight from my network.
