It's still a long shot that durant, or any of the other FAs besides maybe whiteside) decide to leave their current team. It's still fun to speculate.

    Nope. He didn't report that.
    He said :
And then Woj confirmed that Clips Celtics and Heat have already gotten meetings.
LAL Knicks Wizards Nuggets and Rockets no.

I literally just saw him say it on ESPN this morning. Of course it could be a different Marc Stein or I'm just "delusional" like most people in this thread

You weren't saying "doomed" so they'll attack you for it.

Don't understand why you stuck around so long given that most of the discussion is around a thought that you had no interest in entertaining. That's just trollish behavior.

This article written by him basically says the same thing though.

OKC, GSW, and SAS have confirmed meetings. The rest of the teams status as unknown.

TBH again, after the Dwight and LeBron FA I'm done putting any stock in this stuff.

According to the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement and Article 35A of the NBA Constitution, the league defines tampering as “when a player or a team directly or indirectly entices, induces or persuades anyone under contract with another team [before Free Agency July 1st] in order to negotiate for their services.”

Penalties for tampering include fines, a suspension for the offending person, the team being banned from signing the player that was tampered with, a loss of draft picks and individual or team fines up to $5 million.

Media: Were you talking to KD about coming to the Rockets all that time you guys were hanging out?

Harden: ummm oh gee let me see here...umm I'm gonna go with NO.

    ;) ;) ;)

If the Rockets were in the front runner meetings it would raise suspicion of tampering. But only fools should believe Harden and Durant were only talking about how delicious the chicken n waffles are in AZ and how great a band early era Metallica was circa Ride the Lightning.

Media is doing their best to spin but we had 1st pitch, we had 1st contact. Everyone else is just getting a formal meeting for courtesy sake. Harden had a real, multiple day, boys hanging out interaction to bend his ear. Now the other teams get to roll out their stale hotel conference rooms with PowerPoint presentations and Bluetooth speakers playing Joe Esposito's 'You're The Best'

And if any league official reads this and takes me seriously, I'm just a crazy Rockets fan. Nothing to see here. Everyone knows Boston is a front runner. Just look at the list of confirmed meetings! ;)

Well unfortunately for those not in utter despair, if Stein did say that it's meaningless - we've already been instructed to ignore everything he says because he's a troll.

If I recall, the dude was pretty confident that LBJ was going to choose the Rockets before he went to CLE also.

Except for this part from the article that the cbs site is sourced from:

"If your team doesn’t have one by now, you shouldn’t be feeling too confident about your place in the Durant race."

at least I'm somewhat content of how Durant is sticking it to the Lakers. No more token interviews.

That's the thing with free agency, it's unpredictable. FAs aren't going to do what everyone thinks they "should" do, they're going to do what they want. The vast majority end up staying with their teams because they can offer more money. It's why tying your fortunes to free agency is a huge risk. Yet the Rockets remain undeterred. 4 years with Harden and not one other significant piece to pair with him right now because we're always trying to remain flexible, waiting for a big fish to choose Houston. What happens if they never do?

    Oh I'm confident brother.
As of today we are the only team who has met with him. Everyone else is still waiting to meet with him.
