He might be ok, but it is all about that Chinese connection with Le$ the sooner he goes away the sooner the Rockets can get serious about winning. DD
Dave Feitl? He was the non-shooting big muscled up version of Porzingis. Dan Langhi? Summer League superstar and DD's pick to click.
Not sure why there's so much angst in this thread. Solid pick at the 43rd spot, definitely a project but anytime a kid is 7'1 and has serious potential as a stretch 4/5, you pull the trigger on the pick. Nabbing him at #43 is quite a steal too apparently, since he was rated as going early second round iirc.
We should be able to get a look at Zhou Qi in the summer pretty soon. He should be playing a decent amount of minutes for the Chinese National Team. US will be playing against China in two exhibition games on July 24th and July 26. Then again on August 6th in the Olympics group stage.
Well, Memphis Grizzlies did CFans a great favour. At least half of the ?OFs will flock to Grizzlies fan forums. Too bad ?OHs gonna stay though. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">With the 57th overall pick, the Grizzlies select Wang Zhelin in the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBADraft?src=hash">#NBADraft</a>. <a href="https://t.co/BvCPcVVfuI">pic.twitter.com/BvCPcVVfuI</a></p>— Memphis Grizzlies (@memgrizz) <a href="https://twitter.com/memgrizz/status/746204479356182528">June 24, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
An interesting thing about QI and the CBL. Their season ends the last week of March. Stop of Qi is healthy and we have a roster spot and either cap room or an exception lefty, we could sign him in time for the end of the season and the playoffs. Let's hope he stays healthy and plays his tail off over there.
Who cares, chances are they were not going to get an impact player with the pick anyway, so why not take a chance with something out of the ordinary and draft a possible foreign Chinese player?
How is this going to help Les make money if there is no intention of signing him? Just be sheer good will of 'WOW thanks Les for drafting a Chinese guy!'? This guy was projected to go in late 1st round or early second round. He slipped to mid 2nd round and the Rockets took him. Maybe Morey thought he was the best pick when the Rocket's were picking. He is tall, has great wingspan, looks mobile, and can shoot. The Rockets won't have to spend a roster spot or cap space to sign him this summer. His buyout is already negotiated and is a very reasonable $675k so there won't be any issue there either. Why can't this pick stand on its on?

He is special.
So he's basically the asian Christian Wood. The same Chritian Wood who went undrafted and is now basically out of the league.
