Love is the way he is today because of Cleveland. See, Bosh, Chris. We may or may not ever see the Timberwolves Kevin Love again, but that Kevin Love would have helped GS. Rebounding is huge for the confidence of shooters, and having a credible inside game would help with spacing. On the flip side, super garbage man Crymond thrives from splash brothers drawing all the attention, but when they are ineffective, he's not going to take over the game unless he's shooting like 6 for 7 from 3 point land, which is redundant with what the splash brothers do and just causes more defenders to focus on perimeter defense.

Here's a good article that sums up Love's issues: http://www.si.com/nba/2016/06/16/kevin-love-struggles-nba-finals-cavaliers-lebron-james-warriors

But GS would miss Crymond's ball busting, I mean, defense anchoring. I'll grant you that.

The more knowledgeable Warriors reporting in the Bay Area seems to think Horford is actually the central target of this offseason. They will go hard at Durant but think they have a better shot at (and greater need for) Horford.

Seems like the kind of guy who would fit well.

Position-wise I agree they need a big more than anything, but KD is so much better than Horford he would help the Warriors a lot more.

I think Horford is overrated, but as a 4th/5th option on a great team he would be great.

The point of playing in the NBA is to either make money, win a championship, or both.

KD has, and will have, enough money even if he goes to Golden State. Why should he care about what people think about his "legacy?"

Couldn't dethrone LeBron as the best player in the game, and now Curry has essentially dwarfed him as the best offensive player in the game (even if Curry screwed up in the Finals). At this point, the only thing KD needs to do, to save his "legacy," is to win a ring.

And why not go to a team / situation best equipped to already do that?

    Curry
    Thompson
    Durant
    Green
    Bogut

That's the best starting 5 in the game. And assuming they retain most of their bench, everyone stays healthy, etc, there's no reason to believe that GSW won't repeat as best team in the NBA, statistically.

Durant, by all accounts, is already on his way to the Hall of Fame. No regular season MVP winner has been denied enshrinement in the history of the NBA (with the possible exception of Derrick Rose). So his "legend" status is already written. If he joins GS and they rattle off 4-5 championships, and if he continues to produce at his current level, Durant will be in the conversation for Top 25 all-time...maybe even Top 20 all-time.

He's clearly been second fiddle to LeBron his entire career, there's nothing Durant can do now to be the best.

Except durant is now in his prime. He is 27, going into 28 and Lebron is 31 going into 32.

Does Durant want to hang out with pricks like Curry, Thompson, and Green all day? Durant did say it's about two things: basketball and who he was around day to day

The league doesn't like the Warriors, what makes anyone think Durant does like them?
