    Lower picks than lottery? LMAO

I bet that at least one of Toronto, Orlando, Atlanta ,Suns (13th) would be interested in trading their first for him. Unless his character issues is that serious apart from trashing a house.

He's better than Capella and has a higher upside... But don't tell ClutchFans that.

People want to keep kicking cans. If it isn't Durant/Horford, they don't want to hear it apparently.

They might be. And if Philly can get that pick AMC thrust in one or two of their lower picks to get up high enough to snag one of Dunn/Murray, that could be what happens.

That's why I'm wondering if we could take that Charlotte dank for #22, add Ariza to it and get one of those picks you mentioned, then take one of those picks plus Capela up to get Murray. Them we either keep Murray or turn him into Noel plus lower picks.

Well, i said all star caliber player, which is not the same as making a couple of all star appearances, let's say i should've not said "all star"...and btw you can make the same argument about Capela as today...

Sure, Curry had an ankle concern when he came out of Davidson and also missed some games in his early year, so despite clearly a better player than Noel in his 3 years, Curry got a new contract of 11 mils per.

While Noel, who missed his entire rookie season with a torn ACL, will get the max.

I get where you're coming from. 9/10 fans would take Noel over Capella. But I hear coaches gushing about Capella's game all of the time. With Noel I hear complaints.

Probably not as good at Noel, but i have no reason to disagree with this, in fact i agree, that's why i said that i'd still take him, i think as today he's better and certainly more proven than Capela. I'm just not sure about trading the few assets we have for a guy who is very similar to Capela.

I'm gonna do a "its not even close" post...

Noel is better than Okafor and it's not even close. Really though, look at how much better Philly was with Noel on the court than when Okafor was on the court.

Capela-Noel would mean 48 nonstop minutes of rim protection, rebounding, bigs that can run the floor and can dunk the living s**t out of the ball.

Actually this is what i mean, DeAndre maybe can make one or two times the all star game, but i don't see him as an all star caliber player. And even though i think Noel is already a better defender than DeAndre, i wouldn't bet on him becoming soo much better than now, but again, that's just me.

Might not make anyone excited but these are the type of players the Rockets should be trying to acquire, and should be looking to rid themselves of the vet players with contracts like Ariza, Bev. and especially Brewer to both release cap space, and also free up minutes for younger players.

The Rockets wouldn't be rebuilding because they will still have Harden, and the young players they will have/have are competent enough to grow into the roles that the previous vets had.

There is little reward to be had in keeping the vets on this team. You aren't winning anything with them but you are holding back other players with more potential.

    ..........

Oh and the Rockets could totally keep Capela and bring in Noel. I like Capela but not sure he's ready for 35+ minutes a night physically. I like keeping him coming off the bench or playing alongside Noel in spurts. Capela/Dwight was our best lineup last year on the front line (IMO) and Noel is way more mobile than Dwight ever will be.

(That being said I believe this rumor about as much as I believe Trump can build the wall)

Please explain how ankle issues are at all realted to acl injuries. Especially since the player has gone 3 years without any of it happening again.

The problem with acl is not recurrence. It's that you lose your athleticism.
There are many studies that show that the younger you get the acl the less of athleticism you lose and if you as young as Noel was you lose about only 2%.

Capela is not the same caliber as Noel not even close. He doesn't have the defensive instict that Noel has.
But if Capela in let's say 3-4 years gets 20 pounds of muscle and learns the position (which is not a given!) and develops some kind of jumpshot (even less probable) while Noel doesn't improve at all then Capela at that time will be a better player.

My problem is Noels' upcoming contract. It's too much imo.

So if you dump Beverley and Ariza for Noel, you clear up to 52 million, you could go try and go out and get Conley and Durant.

    Conley / Vet min
    Harden / Gentile / McDaniels
    Durant / Brewer / Dekker
    Noel / Harrell
    Capella / Vet min

    Is that a Championship team?

That seems like a pretty poor offer.

Yeah I don't think Nerlens will ever be a constant all-star...

But, as I said, on a team with Harden, ??, and a slew of 3-pt shooters, a Deandre type that does everything the other four guys don't want to do (rebound, help side D, dive for loose balls, contest shots) is exactly what we need.

Imagine if Nerlens was able to work with The Dream for an off-season... Imagine how good he COULD be.

And in a fast paced PnR offense, Nerlens should be everything Deandre is now, except a mediocre FT shooter as opposed to a piss poor one.
