I called this didn't I? There will be so many click bait articles now that the season is over. Expect a few more Friday after the draft.
I think Durant is doing a 1+1 with OKC. I have no problem with the idea that Whiteside would go somewhere with Durant. Explain to me financially and logistically how we trade for Bledsoe, keep Brewer and sign Durant and Whiteside. In the 4% chance we get Durant, I can definitely see why he would come here if we pull this off. I just have a hard time seeing this. Also what happened to the Dwert/Ariza to Cavs, Love to Clippers, Blake Griffin/Mozgov to Rockets scenarios? I can see Dwert going to Cavs. Is the Blake stuff all BS? I don't want Love here.
I just looked at San Antonio's salary. Not only does Durant not fit on their roster as is, but they don't have enough money for him. They have 79.5 million on the books. Durant can make 28 million, right? That will be the new 30% of 94 million? So if the Spurs can offer 14.4 million per year, how is that appealing? I guess they could cut Duncan and move Danny Green to get to that number, but why would he want to play for the Spurs sans Duncan? Can anyone school me on this Durant to San Antonio thing? It makes zero sense right now. Danny Green is on an excellent contract. Why move it when you can add a player for 14 million that could help out?
I know it sounds crZy, but the Rockets are honestly the best fit for kD right now. It just makes sense.
Pretty much, that's why i think they should (and probably will) sign Pau, someone should replace Duncan, retired or not he didn't look good in the playoffs, at all...they can sign Durant, but they need to trade Green, renounce Diaw and Mills (their best bench players), it's not as easy as some reports made it seem...again, if Duncan retires they need a center, not Durant. If Duncan plays another year they can take a risk, sign Durant and hope Duncan stays healty and can at least be a neutral factor on the court.
Diaw's a non-guaranteed deal. They can shed his $7 million salary West opted out. That's $1.5 million Manu and Duncan can opt out and sign for less which isn't not surprising if it can help the Spurs get Durant. $6.3 +$3 million. If they opt out and sign for half of that total, combined, that's another $4.6 million saved So even before they move Danny Green they can open up another $13.1 million.
Not correct, they owe Diaw 3 million regardless and he's fully guaranteed if he is still with the team on June 30th. That's before free agency even begins. So they would have to cut a guy that might be owed even more money before they even test the temperature of the free agent waters. Manu did opt out and my numbers mean nothing different regarding that. So they could have 18.5 million to play with unless Duncan opts out. He hasn't. He should have already done that. Every other FA seems to have done that already.
When is his deadline? It's not the same deadline for every player. Howard's is actually June 29th IIRC Duncan can afford to take a couple of more days to think about what he wants to do if his deadline to exercise his player option isn't today.
I don't know where to post this so I will just post it here I guess. The Kings insider (guy who said 2 weeks before anyone else that Morey had called Kings for Dwight and was trying to shop him) said that Bev is not involved in trade talks but Ariza is. He also said that Mclemore will get traded tomorrow but not to Houston.
Thanks for the update! Ariza trade talks I can see & I would like McLemore if we would try something. Gay makes 13.3 this year & player option in 2017-18.
This makes no sense. Harden is "the man" and this team isn't close to being a winner. Like the other guy said there are other options. Dont let fandom blind you
Thanks Malakas Unfourtunately, sounds like we won't be upgrading our PG position this off season. Teague / Hill off the market, very limited PG options in free agency as well. Conley will cost max, the rest of the market is super weak, only PG's on the market are probably Knight or Collison. SF position is very deep this free agency, lots of solid options. Trading Ariza for a pick and signing a replacement makes sense.
What about him? Mediocre PG, basically Beverley without the defense and a worse shot. Wouldn't mind him as a 3rd stronger for vet minimum, but he's far from being a solution or upgrade at our PG position.
