Assuming we miss on Durant. 3 way SnT: Horford and Livingston to Houston Dwight to Golden State Bogut and Brewer to Atlanta
I like Harrell. Even more in MDAs system, but he has no real skill set outside of hustle, energy and some rebounding. I originally had just considered kj for bjelica but didn't think it was enough value tbh and tbh you could use Dekker instead. Fwiw I also think brewer (if kept) will do good in MDAs system. They are both energy hustle and uptempo type guys, I just picked a scenario where we trade both for more shooting.
Draft day trade Celtics in: Danilo Gallinari, #7 pick (2016) from Denver Nuggets in: Trevor Ariza, Sam Dekker, #3 & #45 picks (2016) from Boston Rockets in: Amir Johnson [non-guaranteed contract until after July 3], #15 & #19 picks (2016) from Denver
This isn't a bad thought at all except I think it would probably have to be our 2nd rd pick to Denver instead of Boston, and maybe add jarebko and forward amir somewhere. But I do like it and it appears to be something I see Morey exploring but I'm not sure how available gallinari is but moving up to 3 and getting ariza seems would be very enticing. Repped.
I think Gallo is very available, he will opt out next summer and i'm pretty sure he's going to stay in Denver, he wants to win and he'll go in a better team. But the Nuggets know this, that's why i'm sure they're more than open to trade him. Anyway i just don't see the Nuggets having interest in Trevor, i think he's to old for them.
Very interesting. From our end, one might argue the net gain is negligible. Ariza is extremely valuable when surrounded by the right pieces and we're losing Dekker in this proposal, which essentially cancels out one of those draft picks. Playing devil's advocate, one could say we're getting a lesser role player (Ariza > Amir) and losing a prospect (Dekker) all for a draft pick in the late teens. That said, I like your thinking and it's a fair offer all-around. Who knows, maybe if this draft really is as deep as DM is alluding to he would be interested in such a deal.
It would hurt my soul to have traded that draft pick for Lawson only to have to trade more to get it back...essentially giving up Ariza/Dekker/Papa/Prigs/Johnson for #19 and Amir Johnson. Okay 80% of those outgoing players are trash but it would still hurt. Just can't see anyone at 15 or 19 being more of an impact than Ariza for us.
re: Trevor... a relatively healthy SF (compared to Gallinari/Wilson Chandler) who is younger than Mike Miller (and Jameer Nelson), what's not to like?
Welp, I wasn't that high on Teague but he's gone. Hopefully Morey is up to something; we absolutely need a star 4, and a decent starting or backup 1 & 5 for this season to not go off the rails.
I'd trade Ariza for a first rounder in a heartbeat. But I think we should be more aggressive in getting rid of Brewer.
