Portugal and Iceland both with three points, same goal difference and 1:1 in their match. Who places 2nd in that situation rule-wise, team that made scored goals?

Apparently the team that scored more goals places 2nd, so Portugal advances.

Iceland with the win in the 94th lol, Portugal 3rd. Will still be one of the four 3s that advance because of goal difference though.

Oh snap, Iceland scored at the end and got the 3 points and took 2nd place. I think Portugal got an easier route as a result but I dont have many expectations for them.

    Group F Final Standings

    1 Hungary +2 5
    2 Iceland +1 5
    3 Portugal 0 3

    4 Austria -3 1

Portugal advances with draws only, Alabania is now definitely out.

Because of that goal, it's Iceland vs England and Portugal vs Croatia in the Round of 16. Would've been vice versa if Traustason hadn't scored.

Germany vs Slovakia now also confirmed.

Belgium with a free pass to the semi finals by placing 2nd in their group.

Now that the group stage is over, how do you guys feel about this 24 team format?
Honestly, I think is a bit too many teams and a bit confusing. I think I preferred the old format better.

On the one hand, some matches were kinda boring with teams just trying to somehow grab the third spot. The match quality has dropped. On the other hand, there are so many smaller countries that can enjoy their teams being involved now and even make it out of the group stage. I loved these past days with three games and the weekend that brings us six eliminations games will be ****ing awesome.

IMHO Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Italy and Iceland got realistic chances there.

Won't count out Slovakia, Ireland, NIR just out yet.

    Top matches

Oooh, that is going to be a lot closer than English fans can pronounce pint.

Nah, it is fine as it is.

    Helluva yeah!
