But, last season, Jamie did say that he'd kill Tyrion if he ever saw again..... Anyone getting the feeling some more comeuppance is on the way the Freys and Lannisters at the Twins, that joyous celebration stuck with me from the previews.......
So... if there was a Westeros election and to choose leader of the 7 Kingdoms, who would you vote for?
I wrote this on another forum in response to criticism of the battle and Jon's lack of military tactics, so I'll share it here: I also think Jon's strategic weaknesses set up Sansa well to take a heavy leadership role, possibly Queen of the North.
Remind me. I suppose when Jamie helped Tyrion escape, he didn't know Tyrion was going to assassinate their father
Tyrion and it's not even close. Yara as his VP; she's good but needs more experience. Jon Snow is honorable but he'd be easily manipulated. Varys is still untrustworthy. Littlefinger is obviously untrustworthy. Dany is slowly turning mad. Sansa is becoming too Littlefinger-ish. Arya is too narrow-minded to rule. Bran is too powerful already to be given political power. And we'll just pretend the Dornish don't exist.
Forgot about Davos! Still more of a VP-type than Presidential IMO. Would he be preferable to Yara? Maybe so, but since he's about to rage-kill a red priestess of the Lord of Light - a god who Tyrion used for political gains - I would still choose Yara.
Yara? But she was hesitant to ally with Dany, her only play, when she couldn't reap, pillage, and rape.
Biden had the same reservations but he's done fine. The VP will be mainly for appearances and to appeal to voting blocs that Tyrion might not appeal to. Tyrion is the highest of highborn and as Varys pointed out he can't really relate to the common-folk. Yara is as real as it gets in Westeros or Essos; someone the poor and middle class can both unite behind.
Just my suspicion. For the past couple seasons he has been legit for sure, but I suspect he's still up to something. I can't get behind him, personally.
She told Dany she'd give that up. It took her like 5 seconds to give up that life. It's in her past. Let's move on.
maybe, maybe no. I don't want to say anything to upset the eunuch community. A season or two ago when he said that all he wants is peace, I just never bought that.
If we could vote among everyone from the beginning, then Tywin Lannister...although he probably wouldn't run. If he doesn't run, then Mance. A Mance/Tywin (as Hand) ticket would be unstoppable. Out of those still alive: <img src="http://pbs.twimg.com/media/CkO7qEVVAAE-0xn.jpg:medium" width=600> With Yara as VP,,,because Rockets River has me sold on the future is women. Can't have a drunk Tyrion as VP, although he did well as the Hand, except everyone wanted him gone. Of course, if you were to pick a VP who can play the game and whip the Congress for votes, like Frank Underwood, you'd want Littlefinger...except he'd probably take President Mormont's job at one point.
Even with his seemingly solid motives, he did come close to having Dany killed (I have to assume he warned Jorah though to prevent it). He was the one who gathered the information that led to the meeting with the Masters. It was very convenient that he left Mereen right before it was attacked.
Dany is probably the most electable, warts and all. She has the family name to give her legitimacy and competent advisors in Tyrion, Varys and company. Besides, we need her soldiers and dragons to fight the White Walkers. I don't know that Tyrion would even want to be King rather than advising or manipulating the ruler from behind the scenes. Varys and Littlefinger are the same way. Sansa and Yara are more regional politicians. I agree that Jon is way too emotional and he also lacks the ambition to rule. Dude even quit on being the Lord Commander of the Watch.
