Look at what Val has done the past month or so, do you really think a rookie a year-and-a-half out of college can duplicate that right now?

Bregman could replace Marisnick or Kemp easily, soon, Reed can replace the other, there's no need to trade a productive guy yet.

Bregman struggled with major league pitching this ST. Last year Correa before he was sent to Double A played very good in ST and many thought he could even make the ball club out of ST.
I think Bregman is not ready yet, he will next year. I believe he will go to Triple A in 2 or 3 weeks, and maybe a call final month of the season to give him some major league experience so he battles for the 3b job in 2017.
Valbuena is important on this team as we are right handed oriented, we need that left handed power bat in a position where is difficult to find good players.

Now, the question is going to be what are we going to do with Valbuena next year as FA if he continues hitting the way he is so far this year? Let him go and give the position to Moran or Bregman or re sing him.

it's unlikely that bregman would duplicate what valbuena is doing for the past month and sustain it for the remainder of the season. also unlikely that valbuena will. and i'd absolutely prefer your latter scenario.

if they have no plans for valbuena beyond this season, and they'd trade him to open up a spot for bregman, i don't think it's as silly as an idea as you are making it out to be.

a month ago, i doubt that there were many people on here who wanted valbuena on the roster anymore. hard to consider him indispensable a month later.

Bregman is NOT ready, leave him in the minors.

The 2 guys ready are Reed and Hoyt.

    wrongggggggg

I like Bregman a lot, but i don't think he is ready and he is learning a new position, leave him in the minor for this year.
Second, i am a fan of Valbuena, i traded for him in my league, and got him as a minor leaguer, i have watched him for a long time, and thats why i have said he can handle lefties. He is able to play 3b, 2b and 1b.

Now, if you give me Greinke for Valbuena, yes, i do it in a heart beat but there are not many good 3b out there. Actually, some have mentioned Valencia and i said no, i prefer Valbuena.

Now, i've always said, i like Valbuena a lot, but for 450-500 at bats, not 700.

Also, the minor leaguers i have said i wanted in the majors are Reed, Hoyt and Worth.

I have not said Musgrave, Bregman (yet) like others have said. Look at what happen with Musgrave, he has struggled a bit at triple A, he is not ready for the majors. Lets see what Bregman can do before we bring him to the majors.

Reed has struggled at triple A too.

And I never said I think Bregman should come to the majors before triple A

Becoming unreadable again... Flight of ideas mixed with verbal diarrhea with a side of mental masturbation.

Even the ignore function is useless because every single page is cluttered with responses... And sometimes responses to his own responses.

Another great game by the Astros. They are really hitting their stride.

I gotta say.. I think Hinch deserves a ton of credit for rounding up this young team after the rough start. He really connects with these guys. Most teams, especially a young team like this, would've flounded.

AJ rallied them, they found their confidence, and they really look like a threat. With Correa and Keuchel picking it up, things could get exciting.

    Then we are in agreement.
Yes, Reed has struggled at triple a, but impressed in ST and is hitting like crazy since coming from injury list.

I really think Reed can help the team right now. I do like Marwin, but like Valbuena, for limit at bats, not full time job.

Is a pity that i have talked baseball with you, and this is what you reply.

You have made many replies to me and none are baseball related. Incredible, talk baseball.

hell of a win. It's about time the tides turned in a game like this.

I know the team wasn't struggling early last year, but at least in my head it feels like the Castro walk-off against the Angels mid-season last year was bigger than just one game. Kinda like this one...enormous to get back to .500 mentally.

Also, credit to Remix for the "Luck" chart--that's insane. I don't know what the underlying data is, but I'll buy it given who's on top and bottom :)

Correa is starting to hit very good, now K, he is doing much better, but i am worried about his velocity, is stuck at 87-88, last year was at 90. He is allowing many homers, i think 5 in last 30 innings, so even with a very low whip, his ERA is over 4 in that span, homers.

We need him and McCullers to be dominant if we want to win one of the 2 wild cards.

About Hinch, i believe tonight he had a GREAT game, all moves were good.
Some time ago i was mad at him because he did not use pinch hitters late in the game, tonight he used all his position players, all moves were the correct ones. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

I also like the way he used Giles tonight, with a 1 run deficit. Important spot, but not crucial leading by 1 or 2 runs late.
Also nice to see Sipp back after giving 4 runs the day before and facing a very tough lefty in Calhoun.
The lineup was very good, and i also liked Worth hitting 6th and Gattis 7th.

Tomorrow we are facing a starter that righties hit over .285 against him, so i hope we see Worth again as DH and not Gattis.

I'll make a $25 tip jar bet right now that Fister won't make the all-star team. :)

Well, lets talk baseball, and about Fister.

When we sign Fister all talk was that he was coming from an injury season, and hope was his fastball was going to come back at 90.
In ST we were all looking at his fastball, and it was from 84-87.

We were all worried about that, and if you were not, then you did not know about Fister. I don't only follow the Astros players because i was in a league that is very very tough. We needed to sign minor leaguers, 150 of them, plus the 40 men roster and 25 men roster with salary cap, so i had to know all players.
Fister became a very good pitcher for the M's, then Detroit and then Washington.
Now, last year he really struggled, first time really that he struggled. Why? Because he was injured. Why do you think he only got a 1 year deal after so many great years in the majors? I think he has had 2 or 3 years with ERA's under 3!!!!!!!! But last year he even lost his spot in the rotation BECAUSE HE WAS INJURED.

This year, his fastball continues to be at 86 mph.

I am going to tell you one thing, i hope he continues pitching this way and i don't have to tell you, i was right, you were wrong, his fastball never came back and look at him struggling.

I hope he continues to pitch the way he is doing, but i am worried about his fastball. Is like Colby Lewis, he is having a great year, but with his stuff, he is more of a 4 plus ERA than a 2.50-3.50 ERA.

So, he had an awful ST, he started very bad this season, and he still pitching at 86, i am very happy he is doing great, OF COURSE, but i am still worry about his fastball and regression from him.

So, hopefully you can make fun and say all those things about this issue, but, even in rotoworld, the guy there wrote yesterday, is risky be, this is what they said "Fister has been surprisingly successful this yer, given that his velocity hasn't been any better than in his disappointing 2015 dseason in Washington. He's sporting a 3.21 ERA, though his peripherals don't back him up. He remains a risky play in mixed leagues"

Now, i promise you on this one, i hope you are right and i was wrong.

Now, if i am wrong, i have no problem to admit and CELEBRATE SUCCESS

You have just admitted a few posts ago that Fister is the best Free Agent pitcher for next year while after a few starts you said he should be cut.

Do you see how your claims of being 'right' are mainly because you take opposite stances on the same subject?

Stick with a stance. Nothing wrong with having opinions that turn out to be wrong. You should have posted something like:

"Man, was I ever wrong about Fister earlier in the year. I thought he should be cut, but he has stepped up and has been the Astros' best starting pitcher".

    and

"Man was I wrong about Tony Sipp. I thought he was the player the Astros MUST sign and he has been very mediocre this year"

Those kind of comments get you respect.
