Agreed. Guys like Valbuena, Marwin, Gattis, Gomez, Castro... all just guys when it comes to their plate production. They all should get back to at least replacement level production... and once they exceed that (like Gomez should), the lineup should score enough runs.

But the pitching is the preverbal strength of this team.

Yep, how about the fact that we have been as good as basically anyone for almost 2 months now, so we might not want to trade away guys who are helping

Well, the impressive stat is that Altuve and Correa hit the ball hard, even tough Street dominates righties, they are only hitting .136 against him, and lefties .333, maybe thats the reason Marwin did not bunt.

I'm not quite sure you are agreeing with what he's saying.

I think the Rangers series just weighs too heavily on everybody's minds... they've honestly been able to clean up against everybody else, dating back to the CWS series on 5/17.

I still think we have a problem with DH and Reed can help us with that.

Let's hope Congre's boy, Dan Straily, can pitch a gem tomorrow.

I agree with this sentiment here. Would prefer to go bat over arm but if they find a cost controlled TOR pitcher then I wouldn't be too upset about it.

Sure I am... replacing one slightly above replacement player for another isn't going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.

This team will go as far as Springer, Altuve, Correa, elite Keuchel, solid overall staff, and an elite bullpen takes them.

This is my point concisely, why trade a guy(s) who are helping you finally win games?

Bring up guys to fill holes (hopefully Reed can do that at 1B, if not I think a LF/DH/1B type is in the cards, they have 3 guys not named Gomez who can play CF), get a SP, go kick ass.

Reed is ready, he is hot in the minors, very hot with the bat.

Well sure, but not sure who is advocating for that.

I'd assume trading Valbuena would mean Bregman would be replacing him.

Those SP are hard to find...Gray?, Kluber?, Who? I dunno?

There are no great FA options next winter, iirc, so it will cost you a bunch of youngsters and that's OK with me.

Bregman will be the 3b next year, this year is Reed the one that is going to help the team. Last year it was McCullers and Correa, this year is going to be Reed and Feliz.

i replied to a post from you yesterday or today saying this in response to you saying that luhnow is going to clear space for reed through trade.

whose place is reed going to take if you trade away nobody who is "helping" right now?

Right now the best FA pitcher for next year is Fister.

The only pitcher in FA i would look a little after Fister is Hellickson.

I would look towards Tampa's arms. They have a plethora of guys who have high ceilings.

Gotta say I find it amusing a certain poster is quoting multiple people trying to get in on conversations to no avail, all the while, said poster is completely oblivious to it
