If true, the Rockets management are idiots.

Good post. DH is getting scapegoat treatment and his interior defense and rebounding will be missed more than most people think.

Houston might be even softer and have even worse defense.

You've ignored chemistry and desire to win. It's not all about a need that someone can fulfill. It's about wanting to do what you have to to make your team a winner. Dwight is a loser, he's had several years that proved that. He got close once and has refused to adjust. Harden's defense straight up sucked this year, but he improved as a rebounder and as a scorer. He tried at something. Dwight showed regression pure and simple. His leadership took a bigger backseat than his offense. Leadership is about getting it done, not getting it done when everything goes the way you dreamed. The lesson of humility is the one Howard needs before he takes the next step.

Dwight was also to blame for the piss poor defense. His days of being a defensive beast are long gone. People need to stop associating the name Dwigt Howard with 2010 Dwight.

Funny how you assumed it's true. Follows with your usual disdain of the front office. And how you believe Marc Stein when he's obviously being fed disinformation.

On with the show. Now go out and get a C that can not only rebound and play D but can hit FTs and Jump shots.

Whether you believe it or not, Stein is just retweeting Calvin Watkins, the ESPN Rockets reporter.

Here's what Watkins said that Stein shared,

    ---------------------------------
    Calvin Watkins
    ESPN Staff Writer

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey spoke with Howard's agent Perry Rogers and team CEO Tad Brown talked to Howard himself expressing his support as well.

The team values Howard's defensive abilities and the potential of what he can do on the offensive end in a new scheme under just hired coach Mike D'Antoni as the reasoning for retaining him.
    ---------------------------------

That info is in line with what many have been saying: One way to push Dwight out the door is to make it clear how we want him to play now...PnR offense. This info also takes the Rockets off the hook for looking like the bad guys.

Highly unlikely? I don't man, it depends on how many players will actually leave there teams, I'm really hopefully we get a too player but not confident.

Even if we where to land one top player, I believe we would be better if Howard stats (unless it's Whiteside).

The only scenario where letting Howard walk is a win for us IMO is if we sign two max's, or Whiteside.

Outproduced by Capela last season? Lol

Center will be a position of need if Howard leaves. I love Capela as much as the next, but is really a starting quality center on a championship team?

Perhaps he will grow into one next season, I really hope so, but I dont think he is right now.

That being said, I'm all for letting Howard walk if we sign 2 max players, or even replace him with Whiteside. I dont think Howard opting out is a positive otherwise.

Fans are so damn quick to **** on Howard, Clutchfans is beyond ridiculous sometimes. Howard is still a really good center, he's a great PnR, rebounding, defensive big and that's a need for us.

I thought the most realistic scenario of us improving our roster was Howard opting in, and us landing one max player like Conley or Horford.

If we loose Howard, and sign one max player not Named Durant or DeRozan, then we basically are in the same place as last year.

SnTs only occur with Free Agents. He just became a free agent. Had he opted in, there is not Sign n Trade because he's already signed.

The reason fans **** on him is because he quit on us plain and simple.
He has no idea how to post up and yet when we declined to involve him more he quit and was stat chasing.
His best attribute is the P&R, and he had one of if not the best P&R player to play with and yet couldnt muster the humility to accept that and set hard screens rolling to the basket. That to me is enough to say you are dumb as rocks get the **** out.

This is a good thing for us, even though IMO it is not likely we can get someone as good as him right now unless ofcourse harden hypnotizes KD and horford joins him. Its still good to know that an egotistical, whining player who gets 24 million to play wont be with us next year because role players follow the stars of the team and when your stars is setting that type of example its no frickin surprise a WCF team turned into a 500 team being embarrased by the warriors without curry.

Dont forget this team was 20 games over 500 WITHOUT dwight just 2 years ago ...bye bye dont let the door hit you in the ass u egotistical quitter

Its obvious the big goal is next off season. That's why they wanted Dwight to pick up that option. Won't be that easy to replace what he did well for us.

I suppose they thought Dwight could still work out if they made one big FA signing.

But why would they hire MDA if they wanted to keep Dwight - that makes no sense at all.

Can this ugly mofo stay healthy? Will he be a lot cheaper than Dwight? If so, then i'm okay with Dwight walking. Sure would love Noah's passing and passion.

Noah might be the biggest name we can probably attract. Deng probably the 2nd biggest name lol...that's why i am worried about not bringing Dwight back.

Have you never seen people quit jobs after a new CEO comes in and sits people down to say, "We love your work, and want you to stay. Let me explain our new direction moving forward and your new role."

Dwight is such a child. It would be very easy to have a conversation like that with him, to almost guarantee he quits, and you don't get blamed for it.

btw, DaDakota...your D is dropping. I thought you'd be excited about the news.
