    Yeah, a lot of people don't know, but D'Antoni is a legend in Europe.

    Kobe Bryant wore #8 because Mike D'Antoni wore #8 and he was Kobe's favorite player when he grew up in Italy.

    His dad Ferdinando Gentile is also a Basketball Legend in Italy. And Gentile Sr. is a coach. So Alessandro is the son of a coach, and the son of a former player. Hopefully that translates to a high IQ guy.

    Also I seriously suspect Ferdinando Gentile and Mike D'Antoni went head to head a few times. Maybe circa late 80s? Italia Cup? I wouldn't be surprised if Gentile Sr and D'Antoni know each other pretty well.

    Great! Hope he can be a nice rotational player.

    Don't forget the Rockets can use the 2.8M Room Exception without touching their cap space. Gentile could be a candidate for that.

    I've felt pretty good about Gentile for a while now. I didn't know he'd come over to the NBA this soon, but the sooner the better.
