Good match. Ronaldo actually would've deserved to make that goal, but this time he has noone but himself to blame. Group F may be pretty low quality-wise, but it is now one of the most interesting one's. All four teams have the chance to advance and three teams can still win the group. I'll answer just the same way Spoiler Fist of all, no need to excuse. You're absolutely right that I know only little about your country and I find your insight really interesting, there's a lot stuff I didn't know and I'm glad you're sharing it with us. I may only know very little, but I'm not Jon Snow and know more that you think. I could share stories about my croatian friend having trouble with the administration before he got married two years ago (confirmation of his birth certificate). About his father, when he wanted to build a house and the authorities would'nt give him permissions without obvious demands for bribes (which he refused). About the social difficulties like my buddy's friend who can't tell his family that he's having a serbian girlfriend. And to come back to football, I witnessed myself the croatian fan scene. When Dinamo played in my hometown Stuttgart over ten years ago, my buddy got us tickets and I was right in the middle when the BBB threw fireworks on the pitch and beat the **** out of each other or some other group (can't really tell until today what this fights were about). I talked to some of these guys and eventhough they were really nice guys, my impression was, they would use every excuse just to cause trouble and establish themselves as dangerous and were kinda proud of it. Now let's get back to yesterday's incidents. From your points, I understand that the fan groups may be frustrated and despaired. But where's the profit out of trying to get your country disqualified? In what way would that help their situation? We have two scenarios now. A: They don't get suspended. The federation will have to pay a large amount of money but nothing else would change until the next occurence. B: They get suspended and may get even banned from club competition or the qualifiying for the World Cup and hence lose several years of development, not to speak about the financial consequences. Once again: Where's the profit? In what way would that improve the situation? As far as I can see from distance, now the federation and even the politicians just blame the "terrorists" and Croatia as a whole country lost international sympathies. In what way would that help to bring Mamic down? Is violence, causing trouble and getting banned really the answer?
Croatian Sensat, do you know of a guy called "Ante Ustasha" aka Goran Derek. I think I might have asked this before. I think he got kicked out of a meeting of the Croatian football federation. I cannot find the article anymore. http://dubrovackidnevnik.rtl.hr/vij...-kako-je-derek-objasnio-schweinsteigeru-video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJGxca2w_LQ This guy. Can you translate what he says? https://www.facebook.com/Goran-Đerek-Ante-U-174225859307360/
I saw Ronaldo's comments after the Iceland match, and they came off as dickish. so this seems like justice. I don't pay much attention to soccer until these big tournaments. So don't know much about Ronaldo other than he's the man. He smiles a lot. So I would think he is a good guy. Is he considered a good guy, dick, premadonna? His comments sent me a bad first impression. That shot he took from outside the box looked wicked though. Ho the goalie stopped that I do not know.
Update Top 10 Spain Italy France Germany Belgium Croatia England Hungary Poland Switzerland (Under consideration: Romania, Wales, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Iceland) Not talking about ladies here. I mean Croatia, Slovakia and Czech, Albania had some really nice ones obviously Russian, Swedish and Hungarian.
Jena (city where I go to University) vs Bayern in the first round of German Cup, haaa. Dream come true.
They are not looking for international sympathies, they are trying to stir **** up until the head mafiosos leave the federation. We'll see who'll blink first. Btw, just to be clear, Croatia is not all that bad and awful as we talk about in this topic. There are plenty of educated, honest people here, my friends and family are all very reasonable and smart folk, and Zagreb is just a beautiful, cultured city. You mentioned some problems your friends have faced that I understand might happen here, but are certainly not the norm. And it's disgusting to think that a Croatian should have to hide he has a Serbian girlfriend for fear of being shunned by his family. BBB are Dinamo Zagreb's ultras, I know some that are great lads and some that are clearly disturbed and you should stay clear of, although the same situation is with every ultras group. They don't support the team anymore because of Mamić, nowadays you can only find them at futsal Dinamo matches (that team is owned by fans). 500 fans show up on Dinamo football matches and sometimes around 5000 on futsal Dinamo matches lol. Yes, I remember your e-mail from two years ago. I didn't know who the guy was, but I googled him and found out he was some local clown from Dubrovnik, a mentally r****ded person that somehow started hanging around the people from the football federation, so they began to take him with them on various matches (CL, EC, WC) as entertainment. It's a freak show. The first link is referencing some video that isn't included on that page, and that unavailable video should be about how Đerek "is explaining to Schweinsteiger how and what to do to succeed in the Champions League". On the second link, he is on the bus and is imitating a flight attendant. Unfunny and dumb. The third is his Facebook page, nothing interesting.
Would rep, but have to spread. I think France and Switzerland will agree on a draw in the second half, so they both get what they want. And what's wrong with the swiss jerseys? Three disrupted shirts in the first half...
First group is completed. Group A Final Standings 1 France +3 7 2 Switzerland +1 5 3 Albania -2 3 4 Romania -2 1 France and Switzerland advance. Albania might have chances to get to the next round, but it's unlikely. To find out more about the complicated rules with the 3rd placed teams, check out Wikipedia. Don't quite understand why the swiss didn't really go for the win in the last minutes. Since Romania lost they were in no danger of losing the second spot, now they play most likely either Germany or Poland. Good luck with that.
You go to the university in Jena? What do you study? The group I used to work had some collaborations with Max Planck institute.
Disappointed in Slovakia. Just trying to hold the 3rd spot and hope for best luck instead of taking their chance.
Hey why not? England wasn't cracking their defense. They could just pack the box and survive. England couldn't even beat Russia who arguably was the worst team in the tournament.
Group B Final Standings 1 Wales +3 6 2 England +1 5 3 Slovakia 0 4 4 Russia -4 1 Wales and England advance. Slovakia is ahead of Albania in the 3rd Placed rankings and needs one more team to not reach 4 points and an even Goal difference.
Because they haven't survived yet and need the other teams to play on their advantage. With a win they would've been through for sure and most likely had an easier opponent in the next round.
