the only quibble is how predictable it all was, everything else was great

you knew the giant was going to die because of the CGI budget

Agreed, amazing episode and Ramsey's fate was AWESOME - now for that stinking High Sparrow.

    And the Freys.

Definitely open for Euron to take the Ramsey role, Dany already likes Theons sis as an ally. So what's Euron going to do? There was some chatter that the Dornish were the only ones who successfully resisted dragons so maybe an alliance there.

That was the best example of being in the middle of a medieval battle I've ever seen on screen.

The best part of the last few episodes? No Dorne.

Be interesting to see what happens. Jon snow doesn't have an army anymore, but Sansa does. Littlefinger is now the power in the north.

Also, if you survived and you follow Jon snow you have to have doubts. Dude lost his temper and got his army slaughtered.

Predictable, I tend to agree. With that said, how it was filmed was fantastic. They did a great job with the battle. The ending was extremely gratifying. Even more than the hangings at the Wall.

I really wish Jon hadn't fallen for his very obvious plan there. Sansa basically told him exactly what he'd do, and he went completely opposite of his own plan. Got a lot of people killed needlessly honestly.

Holy balls that was freaking amazing

Dany riding her dragons into battle was one of the things I've always wanted to see since their birth

The freaking battle was epic. Beautifully shot

Hopefully the Lord of Light brings back Ramsay.

That's my only nitpick of an otherwise incredible episode. Jon knows Winterfell better than anybody, especially Ramsay, and he doesn't use that to his advantage nor does he heed Sansa's advice. And Ramsay was doing just fine until the Vale came to the rescue. Ultimately I would have like to have seen the two armies trade some punches and not have it be so one sided. Would have also like to see some of the houses betray Ramsay too, but that was most definitely off the table when he played his game with Rickon.

Great episode but Hardhome was better imo.

Maybe they were showing Jon isn't a seasoned battle commander, leading a few men against some mutineers in Craster Keep doesn't make you a great war commander.

I see Littlefinger forcing Sansa to marry him so he can be warden of the north, but maybe Sansa telling the truth to Robin Arryn about who killed his mom maybe next season so the Knights of the Vale doesn't follow LF anymore.

Fantastic episode. They needed to close some storylines to move forward and they did it well.

Predictable for sure. But the filming was on the level of the opening battle in "Gladiators", which was also "predictable," but sets the bar on infantry, archers and cavalry combat. Gladiators had more of an awe feeling wrt battle tactics and execution by the army. But this battle surpassed Gladiators on showcasing horses in the action. I don't think we've ever seen the damage that horses do to infantry before in movies, like we just did.

I was really hoping Ghost was going to take out Ramsey's dogs.

Great episode, but like everyone else mentioned, highly predictable. I wasn't on the edge of my seat because of that, but still enjoyed the cinematography and the battle. Sansa is such a b****. She should have told Jon that she requested help from the Vale. But no, she allows him to go into a battle severely undermanned. That move has to strain their relationship and I hope the show doesn't dismiss it.

Dany finally had a good scene. It was great seeing the dragons put to work, but why did she wait until sunlight to destroy the ships while they continued bombarding the city? Was it to wait for the Dothraki to cleanup the Harpies?

Also, lol at Yara pleading at Dany to continue reaping, pillaging, and raping. "But that's our way."

What an amazing hour of television that was. Far better than the sham basketball series from the corrupt NBA.

They knew she was missing and were expecting to sneak attack in her absence.

If she tells Jon about the Vale and waited for them - Ramsey and his army would have went inside Winterfell and there's no winning that battle anymore. They had to keep Ramsey's forces in the open battlefield so the Knights of the Vale could use their superior calvary.

I thought she had already mentioned that they may come to help, or am I misremembering that?

If Jon didn't take the bait and showed a bit more patience, he may have saved thousands of his men.

No one find it strange all the money spent on this episode and not one shot of Ghost? Episode would have been even cooler if we finally got to see a direwolf in battle (does the battle at the wall count?). We didn't get to see Robb's direwolf fight since all his battles were off screen.
