Is Trump the least popular Republican candidate for president in over 50 years? I think he really might be. No one since Goldwater has had so little support. If you go back even farther, you have to go back to Alf Landon to find another Republican with anywhere near as low of national support as Trump.

This could be a historic election in that if Trump fails to get 36% of the vote, it'll make him the least popular Republican presidential candidate since before the Civil War. I think Trump has what it takes to make history.

Trump is proof that a significant portion of the GOP constituency - it's core - is racist.

How is Trump proof of this?

I guess we have to do the work for you.

[rquoter]"Well I think profiling is something that we're going to have to start thinking about as a country," the presumptive GOP nominee said in a phone interview with CBS' "Face the Nation. "Other countries do it, you look at Israel and you look at others, they do it and they do it successfully. And I hate the concept of profiling but we have to start using common sense and we have to use our heads."[/rquoter]

Not sure if they're racist- maybe I'd just call them unknowing or unexposed. Just from my very small microcosm, I've found that my friends who have friends and colleagues from other races tend to be less racist or non-racist, and those who have primarily Caucasian friends and colleagues tend to be more racist. It's not exact- that's just my observation. I think it makes perfect sense. Same with homosexuality. If you're completely unexposed to gay people (no pun intended), you'll probably fear or misunderstand them more than if you grew up with them. That's why the younger generation doesn't have as much of a problem with them as the older generation does.

I know these seem to be generalizations, but that's just from what I've observed and experienced.

Yep. I don't think they've ever had a landslide loss like the Dems had in 1972 or 1984. This might be the year. But probably not, I think he'll gain at least a few states.

I still don't see a direct quote, unless you are assuming profiling means racial and only racial profiling.

It will be interesting to see Trump supporters like Cohete Rojo and Okierock spin Trumps profiling statement, especially after both seemed to question whether he said it.

Trump was asked if he supported increased profiling of Muslims in America.

So according to Rojo no matter how many suspicious comments Trump makes (and there have been dozens), unless Trump outright says "I'm a racist" he's got plausible deniability.

OMG, so profiling based on a person's religion is somehow better than profiling based one someone's race?

Cohete wouldn't believe the Earth orbits the Sun until he sees it for himself.

What constitutes racism besides say "I hate ni**ers"

    Does absolutely nothing count??

    http://fortune.com/2016/06/07/donald-trump-racism-quotes/

How about things like this? Seemingly sometimes he doesn't like being around black people. Thinks they are inferior in certain ways.

Ask Trump. He is the one that replied they should profile Muslims to that question.

Gotta love the range of reactions from that one.

Now, please, someone answer the question: is Muslim a race?

If someone said "racist" they are wrong, but its clear what they meant by it. Don't be stupid, discrimination towards a group of people based on defined characteristics doesn't change anything.

Of course he was talking about profiling based on what people eat for breakfast..
