Let's evaluate that.... 06/09 - Devenski pitches 3+ innings which essentially costs him the 10th and 11th. 06/12 - 5-0 Keuchel loss. 3 pitchers each got an inning in. 06/14 - Astros win 5-2 with Fister going 7.1. 06/15 - Astros win 4-1 with McHugh going 6.2. 06/17 - Astros lose 4-2 in 11. McCullers goes 6.1. Feliz goes 1.2. Closer and set up guy each go 1. Neshek comes in to start the 11th to face Duvall and other right handers. In other words THE EXACT SAME PLAYERS you wanted NESHEK to come in to face today. 06/18 - Astros win 5-4 in 11. Keuchel goes 7. Set up and closer (for the day) pitch the 8th and 9th. Fellow long man Feldman throws 2 innings for the win.
No my friend, i want to see Devenski more, and in big situations, especially against lefties, now, if you only want to watch Devenski to save the bullpen, ok, thats your opinion, and i respect that, but i don't agree. This guy is our best pitcher vs lefties.
Again....where in that string of games should he have pitched? Plus, where did I say he should only pitch to save the bullpen?
Then you would b**** that he not using Harris and Luke and Feliz enough There are only so many innings in a game
Have the balls and take position, do you think Devenski is been used right or not????????? Take a position, dude, enough of ONLY been a pest
You still didn't answer my question. You seemed disturbed that Devenski hasn't pitched in a while. By the way, the relievers in all those games gave up runs in 2 innings. To be clear, not using Devenski in lieu of the relievers did not cost them anything. They certainly weren't going to have him close yesterday and you can't complain about the 2 given up by Neshek since you wanted him to come in today to face the exact same hitters.
I couldnt give a **** if you think I am a pest or not I've said many times I think Devenski should be in the rotation Can you read?
Holy f--- the irony. Just because you took both sides of a position doesn't mean you stood for something.
My position is that for the most part, Hinch has managed the bullpen well. The 2 major disappointments have been Gregerson's blown saves and Giles' pitching crappy (for the most part). Perhaps he should have pulled Gregerson from the closer's role a game or 2 earlier, but other than that, their bullpen use has been good.
i thought the blue was for blue balls and the pink for vages. crazy, it speaks to the strength of our bullpen mainly, but today was only the 2nd Stros win that Devo has pitched in.
I think that Gregerson vs righties can pitch in the 7th, 8th or 9th, i like matchups with him. Now, Harris is an All Star, he is our closer. Giles, well, he is just not good enough this year and we have a lot of talent that is or was wasted, examples, Feliz for a long time, Devenski, Neshek vs righties, same with Gregerson. Feldman has been use perfectly, and has helped the bullpen BIG TIME. We need more from Sipp, he has been average, we need good from him.
My friend, Devenski should be pitching more, period, especially against lefties. That is my position. This year i was saying the SAME about Feliz, that he should be used in big situations, and Hinch did it, but it took him a long time for that. Last year he should had used Feliz and VV more, and this year is Devenski. Why CONTINUE to make same mistakes???? Look at Rangers last year, and Toronto, they used young pitchers and/or rookies in late innings situations, once was the closer, Osuna. Lets use Devenski in big situations, that change up is really good. And second, i want Hoyt in the majors.
