We are going to lose a series at home to the bottom dweller Reds. I guess the last 3 weeks were just a bright spot in what will be a pathetic season for the Astros.
Hinch is so stubborn. Keeps going back to the same decisions that have killed us over the course of this season thus far.
We should never hear the phrase "great move by Hinch" because if one of his moves work it is strictly a blind hog finding an acorn.
I'm not saying Will made the desicion. I have no doubt in my mind he would have been out there if it was up to him. I'm saying it's really sad that we are at this position where it's a common idea that a guy can't handle throwing 15 pitches. Either way, the point is moot. Giles should have handled it.
he's the daryl morey of baseball managers. thinks he's smarter than everybody else and that his "rights" are worth more than everybody else's.
No, we should not expect Giles to handle it, he has not done it this year. 1 out of 4 in save situations. If Hinch is trusting on Giles to save games this year, he is crazy, a guy with a whip over 1.5 you can't trust. The problem was not the homer ,was the single, 2 hits in 1 inning???? Not good We had a day off, and we did not win last night, and we did not had Feliz and Harris available for a save situation???? Then something is wrong with the manager.
Except that Lefties are hitting .286 off of him and Righties .158 And only 1 K vs a lefty this year and 14.4 K/per 9 vs righties
Devenski is going through the same thing Feliz and VV did last year, Hinch did not give them an opportunity to pitch late in games. Devenski has shown the can start, and handle tough situations, who do you prefer, Giles or Devenski pitching in the 9th with a 2 run lead?
The Manager doesn't make the decision of who "is and isn't" available on any given day Note: stating this fact does not mean that I love A.J. Hinch
