Rasmus is not middle of the order worthy either. Just sooo many holes in this lineup just can't replace them all. It's frustrating to watch a lot of the time.
i would say its the first game home after a long road trip but we've had a day off and it's the ****ing Reds.
That's entirely dumb. Given the natural foul ball rate, why wouldn't you want two chances to do something with a hittable pitch? Springer almost went yard. Gomez got the knock the last game. I would venture to guess that the batting average is quite high when players get a 3-0 strike to swing at.
nearly 3-1 favs, had a day off, and coming off a sweep on the road of the cards. the reds' starters and bullpen got pummeled by the braves and we can only manage 1 measly run.
to put more pressure on the pitcher to throw another strike to make it 3-2. 3-1 is a favorable count as well.
Metrics don't agree with that. Swinging at 3-0 strikes is one of the highest percentage swings in baseball to do damage with. You do have to have a grasp of the strike zone. Also, see how many of those players that "do it" end up actually involved in a full count where they're suddenly on the defensive.
