Because Rasmus is hitting over .300 with RISP or got a walked to load the bases in the 6th?

Rasmus is not middle of the order worthy either. Just sooo many holes in this lineup just can't replace them all. It's frustrating to watch a lot of the time.

Agree, Rasmus is good hitting 6th or 7th.

He got a pitch right down the middle.

    What else would you like?

i teach people to never swing on 3-0. if they throw it down the middle the 2nd time then go for it.

Surprisingly Altuve got a couple of hittable pitches there.

This would be a really horrible loss. We were massive favorites with the oddsmakers

Seems we only win when we're not favored recently

That's entirely dumb. Given the natural foul ball rate, why wouldn't you want two chances to do something with a hittable pitch?

Springer almost went yard. Gomez got the knock the last game. I would venture to guess that the batting average is quite high when players get a 3-0 strike to swing at.

nearly 3-1 favs, had a day off, and coming off a sweep on the road of the cards. the reds' starters and bullpen got pummeled by the braves and we can only manage 1 measly run.

I dno, you get in front in the count and you'll see something to hit. Why not hit it?

to put more pressure on the pitcher to throw another strike to make it 3-2. 3-1 is a favorable count as well.

Metrics don't agree with that. Swinging at 3-0 strikes is one of the highest percentage swings in baseball to do damage with.

You do have to have a grasp of the strike zone. Also, see how many of those players that "do it" end up actually involved in a full count where they're suddenly on the defensive.
