One of the two players is going to be available as an unrestricted free agent. The other will require a trade. But, hypothetically.... Given the gigantic contracts that will be handed out like candy this summer due to the new salary cap, Ryan Anderson will likely get, what?, $15,000,000+ per season. Kevin Love makes $18-20,000,000 per season and can at least rebound. I think their current roles blur the distinction between the two. Anderson's role is clearly defined: stand out there and shoot three pointers. Kevin Love just really doesn't mesh on that team. Would he return to form on a different team? I doubt he'd want monster numbers on a bad team again. Still, tough to shine when you can't step free of LeBron James' shadow.
Do not want love . He's had two years of subpar production and failing to mesh with a dominant ball handler . Maybe Irving and Lebron are too much together , but I agree with Van Gundy that his role should have been rebounding and he really hasn't done it that well. There were always stories of him muffing a rotation to be in better position for the board . Not particularly defensively talented for the four position and too small for the 5 . Also he will want a max contract and with the cap going up the bidding will probably result in a close to max or max deal . He's not getting any younger . I don't even trust his shooting that much . His passing and post game plus slightly above average rebounding is what he brings . I'd rather take a shot on Dmo at his market rate than love for a 4 year max .
Already got his max deal last summer. 28 2016-17: $21,165,675 29 2017-18: $22,642,350 30 2018-19: $24,119,025 31 2019-20: $25,595,700 (Player option)
What a completely stupid bump of an old thread this is. Nice trolling attempt If you wanted to ask that question you could post it in the other 10 threads talking about FA instead of trying to mislead people.
Don't need Love. The guy has been a no show in the Finals for the Cavs. I am glad the team did not end up with this guy. He got his contract and that all she rolled.
the Kevin Love fail talk is way overblown. People think because he's not putting up the same numbers that he did in Minny, that he must be declining or was somehow fools gold. Just two years ago the same people were talking about how he and LMA were the two best 4's in the league. I don't know why you would expect Kevin Love to put up the same production he did in Minny when the entire offense ran through him and it was a much better system for his skill-set. But because he goes to Cleveland, is now the third option, and has tried to adjust his game to do what's best for the team, in a system that doesn't maximize his strengths; the guy is garbage? It's irrational folks. Kevin Love is still an all star 4 who can shoot extremely well with range and rebound the hell out of the ball. We should jump at the chance to trade fro him if Cleveland decides they want to make some roster changes this off-season. But i doubt they would ...because they may very well be champions, and even if they fall short, they have a team that can be champions without making any adjustments.
Yeah I didn't look at the thread start date and assumed he was a free agent . I don't wanna pay 20+ mil for love . Production issues aside , I just don't think he's a good or versatile enough player to justify us bringing him on as a number two . He's gonna have matchup problems when teams play small and can't guard the better PF's in the game .
Ridiculous. But, Love defines what 'fit' means and what 'fit' does not mean. KLuv will 'fit' nicely in green next year, where he is likely headed IMO.

Yes, that #3 pick would go a long way in Cleveland. Plus get them out from under that $20,000,000 player who can't contribute much there. I'd love to take that #3 pick for ourselves. If only we had the assets.
Completely agree with your post... Too many times people on this board evaluate everything with numbers without looking at the entire scenario. GREAT POST!!! T_Man
If y'all mad over me bumping an old thread than I got two words for ya: Spoiler bunch of whiners I tell ya, whiners!
Lolol, this is great from way back. Yeah, Love... you're looking awesome in the finals. Great defense and effort!!
Obviously in different situation he might work * just in Cleveland it's not the case.... But maybe he'll have some Bosh moment in game 7 and help beat Curry and the Warriors. Then Mr unanimous MVP can throw his mouthpiece again and go party with Cam Newton.
