    Absolutely.

Rockets need any talent they can get.

If you put him next to Harden in a D'Antoni system you're going to be a good team for a long time. The scary part is you might become the kind of team that wins 55 every year but never gets to the finals, because Love obviously does not have a 2nd gear or toughness. It might take 5 seasons before you realize you're not good enough with 2 soft players that don't play defense.

Anyways.... we don't have the assets.

I agree, however when draymond was out game 5, love had 2 pts 3 rebs in starters minutes. He needs to get out of this funk

Clearly Kevin Love does not fit with the Cavaliers. Chris Bosh fell to third wheel status in Miami and a lot of (dumb-ass) fans were saying he was a bum, "I told you he was overrated", and such....which they weren't saying anymore once LeBron left and he had to be the 2nd best player on the team (although his health problems have otherwise derailed his career).

It's hard to categorize Love. Playing next to LeBron is obviously intimidating him; he has that expression of a young if obedient kid taking a lesson whenever LeBron takes him aside. Sometimes when you get behind the eight-ball it's tough if not impossible to step away from that spot.

I would argue that we might actually have the assets to acquire Love, depending on the contract DMo is offered this offseason and if he would want to play for Cleveland (and by that I mean, combine him with players and picks that would entice Cleveland). Dwight isn't needed next to Tristan Thompson so that's out.

Any speculation might be null if Durant didn't tell Harden straight-out while they were clubbing that "nah, gonna stay put". Hopefully we don't lose out on other dudes IF Durant is out of reach. But I don't know now if Love would be on our radar. God knows he fits the role that Morey has failed to fill for, oh, ten seasons now.

Yea, I mean...there's definitely no excuse for him being this underwhelming in the Finals regardless who he's matched up against, but it just looks like he has no role on the Cavs. There are teams, the Rockets one of them, who could use him.

He's a serial long-dead thread bumper. Not a fan of that, personally.

    It makes sense.

But it means eveyone else on the team will have to defend.

I knew it! These clowns can go one offseason without hounding someone.
I know this one so well. They chase one person until all other possibilities are gone.

Eh...i don't know, i'm not sure about him at this point...

We obviously need talent, and Love fits this (and btw you can always trade him later) point but:

    - we don't have the assets

    - can he really be a good fit here?

Honestly i'm not sure he can be successful here if he's not able to do it in Cleveland, what are we going to do when the opposing team is going to abuse him on defense playing with a small 4? We play him at the 5? I'd say no way, he can't protect the paint, no help defense, zero ability to switch on smaller players. We would be forced to play with a big lineup or taking him out like the Cavs are doing...

I would rather have Ryan Anderson than Kevin Love.

he doesnt fit with cavs. before the cavs he was one of the best scorers. its not like he's at the end of his prime. we dont have to find a center who can play defense and rebound which would be a huge intangible, whether its capela or mahinmi. he'd be the 2nd best passer on this roster, hopefully not when the season starts, or at least tied for 2nd.

underrated. not many options w/o kd and bron so might as well go with him, instead of overpaying conley and horford, who both had subpar contract years. conley with season ending injury and horford injury prone, didnt step up in the playoffs.

You take him if he's available.

I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but once Dwight walks we're going to be in a tough position. Subtract Dwight from our current squad and compare it to the original 2013 squad that went 45-37. Look at the talent level outside of Harden in 2013 vs 2016; it's scary. And I don't mean that in a good way.

Love would be a nice transition from the post-Harden/Howard world.

Cavs know Love is not essential to their championship aspirations. They would probably benefit from a couple versatile wings, a spot post player and some picks.
Enter Celtics: Crowder, Sullinger, Turner and a first/couple seconds for Love and Shump
Rockets can offer: Ariza, Dmo sign, Brewer and a couple picks for Love

just because he's not "essential" doesn't mean he's crap, which is what you're giving Cleveland from Houston's standpoint.

Everything is relative, Houston could use a guy like this right now. 17-10. He may not be championship material... yet... but for us, he'd give scoring and some rebounding at a position where we get very little of that.
