The only school he could have any real interest in within the state of Texas is UT and he has spoken a number of times of having strong issues with schools that have an overly powerful alumi/donor class based on his experiences at Ohio State. He wouldn't have any real interest in the other programs (A&M and Baylor) which are disasters.
No way Herman leaves for Baylor. He is waiting to see if UT and most likely ATM decide to retain their coaches after this year.
Yea no ****ing way. You don't (reportedly) turn down the South Carolina job so you can take the Baylor job with the program in the position that it is in.
OT but got this from another site. Let's do what we can: Folks Tyron Carrier called looking for people to help a GoFundMe page for Alaysha who will go blind without an operation. A very expensive operation. Alaysha was a triple jumper for UH from Bay City. She has already sold her house, car and all her possessions trying to raise the down payment. I know times are tough but this is an example of times are always tougher for someone else. If you can make any small donation to help her know that your doing the Lord's work, helping the blind to see. https://www.gofundme.com/22uze8as
Good for them. This has got to be Orlando's last season if he turns out another good season with the defense. He has a really good resume when it comes to results. Prying Herman will be the big target but Orlando will be on the radar too. He was a great find for the Coogs.

I assume NCAA would have him sit for a year if he gets his transfer. He was close to being a Longhorn before Baylor flipped him. Herman and company are really working the recruiting charm. What's the update on Logan Tillman? He should have graduated by now.
Had a few commits the last couple of days: 3* OT Matthew Huhn: http://247sports.com/player/matthew-huhn-88216 6'7'' 280 lbs 3* OT Dennis Bardwell: http://247sports.com/player/dennis-bardwell-89476 6'6'' 275 lbs Unranked OT Samuel Cosmi: http://247sports.com/player/samuel-cosmi-93212 6'5'' 260 lbs Remember when our o-line used to all be 6'2''?
Recruiting question: getting these 3 star recruits: is UH not even trying to go after the higher ranked ones? I truly don't know, haven't followed college fb that long. Only been a year. How does the process go?
that's why stars don't matter. we have been trying to get bigger star recruits. some come and some don't. look at the current class. marquez bimage is gaining steam as a top recruit. lsu just offered him and from what im hearing he gonna decommit from us and go to lsu. just the nature of being in a non p5 conference. this year's class is by far the best one I have seen at UH since I became a fan/student. we made history being the first non p5 school to get a 5 star recruit to commit to us.
It's a yes and no situation. Star ratings are a very fickle thing. If a 3 star kid gets an offer from Michigan, suddenly he'll get bumped to a 4 star, etc. It's very much a tail wagging the dog kind of industry. If our coaching staff has a lead on a local kid they believe in, they will recruit and sign him regardless of his "star" rating. The point to take home from all of this is that UH used to recruit and sign unranked or very low ranked linemen. Now we're getting kids who have legit potential and the measurables to back it up right from the gun.
There are a number of 4* and 5* players that UH is going after: http://houston.247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/Targets A lot of those guys won't be making decisions until late this Fall or early in the Spring. We're still very early in the process. Our current commit Terry Petry was ranked a 4-star by 247 earlier this year, though his ranking fell more recently. UH also had another 4-star guy, Jaylon Mascorro, who decommitted recently. UH will fight for those higher ranked guys, but reasonably will only end up signing a few of them. In the meantime, UH will make sure not to put all their eggs into the same basket and get talent that's still pretty good. Our recruiting in the last couple of years under Herman is already significantly better than it has been in recent history.
I'm really not concerned about recruiting. CTH and his coaches will maximize the talent of whoever we get and they'll outcoach the other team. Don't forget, he demolished FSU with much less "stars" than he has now.
Good point. Can't judge everything by the stars. Colton Freeman, Cameron Malveaux, Will Noble, and Steven Taylor were major contributors last year and they were both rated 2* coming out of high school: http://247sports.com/player/colton-freeman-37473 http://247sports.com/player/cameron-malveaux-15174 http://247sports.com/player/will-noble-29875 http://247sports.com/player/steven-taylor-17820 William Jackson III was just a first round draft pick, and he was also a 2* guy out of high school, but played like a 5*. http://247sports.com/player/william-jackson-18320
Wow, did not know Jackson was rated a 2*! Talk about maximizing talent. I can't wait to see what Todd Orlando does with Ed Oliver. He's every bit of those 5 stars. Going to be a great year. Go Coogs!
Star ratings mean SQUAT. They are popularity contest. There are MANY great players in the NFL that were rated 3 star or lower prospects. There are many bust in College that are 5 and 4 star prospects.
