Zero. I've have not added any exercise to my normal routine and lost over 35 pounds in the 5 months. Healthy diets leads to weight loss. Exercise MAY lead to weigh loss if you don't go eating more because of being hungry.

If not done correctly, exercise actually makes you gain weight. Look at pro athletes. They all exercise more than normal people, but many of them are still fat.

First, the only "fat" pro athletes in the major sports as a whole are linemen in football.

Assume you have someone who has a consistent diet and regime that doesn't involve exercise other than what they get in their day to day life. Due to their diet and lifestyle their weight tends to not fluctuate much.

If that same person maintains the same diet but adds 30-60 minutes of exercise a day, they WILL lose weight. There will be some outliers, but among the general population, adding exercise to your life will lead to weight loss.

In the same vein, one's diet can also lead to weight loss without any increase in exercise.

To make the blanket statement "exercise does not lead to weight loss" is ridiculous.

If you do each interval for equal durations of 2.14hrs. Total time is 6.43hrs

    mileage intervals are 18.38 / 4.29 / 6.43 respectively for a total of 29.11mi.

I think OP is trolling us.

There is probably discussion somewhere on 4Chan that if you post said word problem and title it "Math Question" in any forum on the Internet, and don't post again in the thread, sit back and watch how long it takes for it to become a bodybuilding.com argument.

Agreed, look at all the egg ball fatties like JJ Fatt. I wouldn't even call them "pro athletes". These fake tough guys prolly walk 1 mile at a speed of 2mph on the treadmill huffing and puffing and then feel a huge sense of accomplishment and reward themselves by grabbing a greasy double cheese burger with extra large fries and a gallon of soda. And then you wonder why hand egg fans and "athletes" have trouble losing weight despite "exercising".

But yes, exercise with a proper diet and rest helps you lose weight. There is no simpler formula. There is no other secret success.
