Draymond is as valuable, not only in this series, but for the success of the Warriors franchise. If you watch what he does for that team, it's more than defense & rebounding. Offensively, he's like a point forward. If he gets a rebound, he's pushing it in transition, making the right decisions. He's much more than a defensive threat but his presence is felt defensively. He's the best "safety" in the NBA today. What's going with Kevin Love in Cleveland? This season, he's made progress in his relations with LeBron. They first had to figure out the chemistry issue and then implement him in the flow of the game with Kyrie & LeBron. There's only one ball. When you're a walking double-double like Love, which he's been throughout his career, he's playing third fiddle & has to pick his spots. He has to wait to get spoon fed his opportunities. In this series, those opportunities have dried up because of one-on-one basketball. It's smart. If I'm GS and I have to game plan for Cleveland, I let Kyrie & LeBron go one-on-one & stay home with Love. ... He can be more effective if he's done what he's done his entire career: get to the offensive glass, stop hanging around the 3pt line and get some opportunities for yourself. Did you confirm you're planning on coming back for an 18th season? No question. I'm looking to come back for 18, play 19 and then get into coaching/management. That is my goal. Hopefully a team, preferably in Houston, that will cater to my needs. What will it take for the Rockets to get back to the team that went to the WCF and more specifically, James Harden? What needs to change? 1. We have to buy in to the system in place, Mike D'Antoni. His system had success in Phoenix. It's a proven system, a winning system. You have to put the right players in position to be successful. If you look at our roster, we have some potential. We do need to do some work in free agency and add a shooter, probably at the 4 position. 2. Getting Harden to play at a consistent all-around level, he's doing that. James is doing his job. Look at the stats he put up. It's a travesty he was not on any all-NBA teams. ... Utter disappointment. They need to redo how they make those selections. What can he do better? He has to come in, do you want me to be on the ball or off the ball? Obviously if I'm off the ball, I still need the ball because I'm the most dominant player, to me, from a SG position because I can make plays for others and get mine on anybody. We'll have to figure that out. In D'Antoni's system, he may play some PG which I think he can play very well at a high level. Biggest misconception about James Harden? That he's hard to play with. And that he doesn't play any defense. I can show as many Harden clips of a guy going backdoor as I can show you Curry clips where he quits on a play or a guy blows right by him. It's overblown. If we dig deeper, the last time I checked, you're getting paid to fill the ball up and get a lot of assists. That's what you're getting paid to do. You got other guys out there that are supposed defensive stoppers. Let them handle the dirty work of guarding. He can put forth more effort at times but it's a long season. His job, to me, is to put the ball in the basket and make the players around him better. Does the NBA have a place for Dwight Howard, where it's back to the basket, get him involved early & let him iso or is it a different game now? There will be a team out there, maybe even in Houston - he's yet to opt out but if he's in Houston, they've already said that's not the way we're going to play. If that's what he's looking for - back to the basket - he'll have to find...about 2-3 teams still play that old school style but he's more effective setting screens, running the floor, rebounding & blocking shots. Any given night he can give you 20 & 20 and it doesn't necessarily have to be posting up. He shoots a low FT% and inside, he doesn't have too many go-to moves but if he has a favorable match up, he can give a strong jump hook to the middle. I would give him 3-4 touches a game in the post but other than that, rebounding, running the floor, setting screens, rolling to the rim hard and catching alley-oops James & I would throw to him. New show on SiriusXM. I'm getting on the job training now. SiriusXM has been kind enough to give me my own platform. After 17 years in this business, after you're done, you still want to be a part of the game. Broadcasting, coaching or management, I'm still gonna be around. I'm a lifer.
Oh look... Jason Terry dropping actual knowledge and first-hand opinion on the forum again. It's nice to hear something meaningful from people with first-hand knowledge. Thanks JR!
I love Terry glad he wants to end his career here. I can see him coaching the team 10-15 years down the line
Don't believe anything Terry says. He has to say nice things about Harden. He is just saying this to guarantee himself a job next season - be it as a player on the Rockets, or on any other team or as a future coach. He talks badly about Harden, it is BUH-BYE NBA. We've been over this couple of weeks ago people - That Ricky Rubio Fan Insider said so, so it must be true
Hmm...it almost sounds like Jason Terry has more knowledge than Clutchfans does regarding the Rockets and James Harden. Hmm...I am intrigued by this new and exciting information.
That's just a quote from the same interview posted above by JR. Come on, zeeshan2!! You know what happened to zeeshan1!!! Don't do this again!
