    I saw it.

Doesn't matter. We didn't score. Terrible.

I'm very aware he hit it hard into a dp. I am also aware McHugh is a pitcher.

I'm saying it's terrible we have a good opportunity and we can't capitalize. Hence why we have a sub .500 record.

You must have missed the inning where the Cardinals had 3 hits, 2 of them being extra base hits, and still didn't score.

    Now THAT was terrible.

    Saw that too. You're right.

Still think we should have scored.

I'm curious what the %age of scoring 1 run (or more) in that scenario is for NL teams: 1st/2nd, 0 out, 8 hitter up, in the 1st 5 innings (because I'd want to remove the possibility of pinch hitting for the P as much as possible). I'd imagine 40%?

In general, the 1st and 2nd/no out scenario scores a run about 60% of the time.

If you presume an automatic out for the pitcher, you're essentially describing the same scenario with already 1 effective out, and that % is 40.

Would be nice to see McHugh get out of this inning... He's pitched quite well.

Shouldn't have let him face that last batter after the first two reached.

We just can't get through these late innings unscathed. Same ole story.
