I think Mcgrady was what almost every superstar is, a bit selfish, self centered & diva-ish.

The difference between Mcgrady & Harden is Tmac had a competitiveness that Harden does. Harden's talented but doesn't compete hard if he's not scoring. Tmac played like nobody was better than him and he was gonna prove it. James just isn't that type of guy. That game against Lebron was proof. You're playing the best player on the planet, and you're throwing lazy passes not playing defense? Tmac was NEVER that sloppy

Nobody hates McGrady. There's a group of people like you who make false statements about his tenure and plays 'if mcgrady had' game.

    there is no 'if' game.

Things didn't worked out as planned, how about the details?

like highest paid rocket player leaves the rockets, doesn't tell them about his surgery and then when his team is playing the Lakers, he goes on the radio and predicts the Lakers are going to win.

the population of McGrady fans need to accept the truth and stop making up scenarios that never happened or will never happen.
I was pissed at those 3 playoff series we lost, they all sucked. Yet McGrady fans continue to romanticize them like it was better than french toast. that wasn't even cheerios.

    it's on you.

Ron Artest was a better leader than Tmac, and it resulted
in a unified team without Tmac. It was only one year Ron, but you were REAL.

Dude everybody on here knows how you feels toward McGrady. Nobody on this forum can mention that dudes name without you following it up with your feelings attached to your shoulders. And look how you responded, McGrady fans, LOL come on dude I've been a Rockets fan since the Murphy and Malone days. So stop with the TOF fiasco already.

Those three playoff's series we lost, were because his teammates didn't step their games up. Then you had the refs screwing us over against the Mavericks. But Tracy left is all on the court and you know this. Yes his demeanor and some of the things he said during that time was off base. But we all know, a lot of people handle things totally different .

Oh and every superstar player gets that treatment from some fans. So who am I to tell them otherwise.

What about the other 10 years he was in the league?

Did the Spurs not step up and get him to the Finals?

It's not about McGrady helping the team, it's always about the team helping McGrady

    To Hell with that

If you want me to be fair

Steph Curry, Tmac and Harden like to jack up 3s.

Curry would take both these dudes to the shed on jacking up 3s.

Tmac jacking up a bunch of 3s to beat the Spurs is Steph Curry every other game.

    Curry > Harden
    Curry > Tmac

Less 'natural talent' more leadership and heart

It's like clockwork when you see "T-Mac" or "Tracy McGrady" in a thread title, tinman is automatically going to be the one with the most posts in that thread. The insecurity.

We need a Ron Artest on this team.

A hard nose veteran that will call out the superstars, maybe even roughen them up in practice to prove their point. But also be the one to first be there when there is a real confrontation on the court against the other team.

If that-Ron was on this team, Harden would play the best defense he could possibly play.

So the things you dislike most about mcgrady are off court....

    La prediction
    Overtalking
    Surgery communication

Hardens issues are all on court besides partying.

Cant deny how lazy he is. I honestly believe this isnt some "phase" he is going thru. This is what he wants, to become a household name, get fat contracts and deals and coast. We got melo after all!

Tracy Mcgrady was way better than Jim Haren.

A 26 year old Tracy is better than a 26 year old James.

Easily. Imagine that Tracy with the Rockets of the past 2 seasons. Wow. Poor guy just never had enough help outside of Yao. By the time help came he had broke down. :(

Tmac is a mentally weak player. He is a good father and family guy, if he wasn't played on a world top competitive sports, he is a very likable guy.

Harden is a mentally dodge character. He is irresponsible, and self serving. But he is tougher than Tmac in some ways, but still not there as a leader of a championship team.

You think that broken Dwight plus Ariza, Beverley, and Brewer is a better supporting cast than what McGrady had? That's crazy.

One thing I know for sure, Harden is way more clutch when you need him on offense. TMac might break a scoring slump for his team in the middle of the 2nd quarter, but James will go get you the winning bucket. His latest winner came when we were trying to stay alive in the playoffs and put that shot in to go up a point or whatever that was with 2 seconds left. There's not that many players in the league that can do that sort of thing over and over, but Harden keeps doing it. That's worth something when you're in the crunch.
