One thing about the recent polls: We are seeing the "ban Muslim entry" question receiving a good deal of support, even majority support, in a poll after the Orlando shooting. Meanwhile, we are seeing Trump getting, well, schlonged interms of personal favorability. It seems that there is a rather large number of people who agree with Trump's "ban Muslim entry" proposal and still have a negative opinion of Trump. I think this signals a moment where Trump might have officially jumped the shark and even some people who hold the same opinion that he expresses don't see him as a viable POTUS.
The RNC will have to set some millions aside for a 24/7 damage control team. For live broadcast event, best they follow broadcast standard and implement a 7-second profanity / I mean Trump delay. They probably should take over his twitter account also.
Well, there's a big difference between Republican primary voters and general election voters. As a result, general election candidates tend to moderate their rhetoric to attract independent voters and then there's Trump going even more bat**** crazy. Trump is doubling down on stupid even more than Republicans usually double down on stupid. It's beautiful!
Not to criticize you directly, but I just want to say I'm not a fan of the phrase "doubling down". I see it everywhere, especially in writing about politics. It's often used as a way to apply a negative connotation to someone being consistent. Trump talks crap about minorities, has all along. And he's still doing it. Meh. But I guess "Trump DOUBLES DOWN on Rhetoric" is a better headline than "Trump keeps saying the kind of things he's been saying"
