I'm not sure why you are so angry. I would like to politely suggest working on your grammar and word usage. It truly hollows out an argument when you are debating with someone.
You are being shown for a fool for supporting a bigger fool. Trump doesn't understand that Afghanistan is a country, and that an Afghan is a blanket made from crochet. Trump would insult the Muslims who would help the United States defeat ISIS, and other radical Islamic groups. Yet somehow you, and Trump believe using the words Radical Islam which the president did use today will somehow stop the terrorism. Look at yourself, and look at who you're supporting. Think again. Good luck. Trump is needs a map before he even tries to discuss the issue again since he clearly doesn't know crap about it.
But you do realize how irrational this is. "USA is halting immigration from the middle east because of radical threat. They think we're terrorist. Oh I know to refute this, I'm going to become a terrorist" If this is muslim thinking then I don't want them here in the first place.
http://16004-presscdn-0-50.pagely.netdna-cdn.com/ Is this where highly educated people go for their news?
we can't solve the problem if we can't even admit that in Islamic texts as they are read/interpreted today there are verses that can encourage violence. I know it's difficult to criticize because libs will always point out how brutal the OT is (probably worse than Quran) but the problem is Muslims don't view Quran as Christians view Bible. I really don't know of any Christians who are actually carrying out punishments prescribed in OT, there could be but it's got to be very small, right? I don't know of Christians asking a "scholar" if it's ok to pray after drinking soda or if they can listen to music, or what is the proper way to divorce their wife etc.. Muslims view Quran as verbatim word of GOD, so when it says chop off that ****ing hand you better chop because that is GOD talking. I just think you can't solve anything by making Muslims think their religion is perfect and peaceful and no reformation needs to take place, it just gives the jihadists more cover. It's like a picture someone posted, Isis throws people of buildings while the majority stand around and watch. Isis didn't manifest it self from some alternate dimension it's made of the local Sunni Tribes who are following Sunni Islam.
Well if your Muslim colleague sashays to work with only one hand, then I'd watch my things a wee more carefully around him, don'cha know?
Personally, I'm not even that opposed to the idea of halting immigration from particular geographic areas of high risk. There are much better ways Trump could present such a policy. But he's presenting it in the most nationalist/jingoist manner because he knows his base will eat that up. And, obviously, if all Trump did was suggest the US should suspend immigration from the ME due to security concerns, Obama's words wouldn't apply. You and I both know it goes way beyond that.
Heh, heh...Trump is just the gift that keeps on giving. From his speech tonight in North Carolina: “Iraq, crooked as hell. How about bringing baskets of money? Millions and millions of dollars and handing it out? I want to know, who were the soldiers who had that job? Because I think they’re living very well right now.“
You realize that you are arguing against the Quran being the problem and saying it's the interpretation, right? I mean it's hilarious to see you basically just make the "liberal" argument you rail against. I am a liberal when it comes to this issue. And I will say this - there is definitely a problem with radical Islam and it needs to be addressed. But saying the problem is with Islam itself is really just a veiled way of saying it's time to declare war on all Muslims. That's the real truth behind what the ultra-right want.
Poll: 70% have unfavorable opinion of Trump http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/15/politics/washington-post-abc-news-poll-unfavorable-ratings/index.html
The problem is that you're assuming that Christians are able to pick and choose for themselves which parts of the Bible they will follow while assuming that Muslims cannot. Not just "probably." Assumption, not based on facts in evidence. Yes, most likely as small as the number of Muslims who believe in carrying out the harshest punishments in the Koran. Seriously? There are many, MANY Christians who seek out and take advice from their (priest, minister, pastor) on a wide variety of subjects. In Catholicism, there is an involved process for divorcing your wife and if you don't go through it, you can't be married in a Catholic church. In other words, you made another incorrect assumption. Assumption, not based on facts in evidence. Straw man, nobody has argued that Islam isn't in need of reformation or that you can solve problems in the way you describe. You're making more assumptions. The people in power (ISIS in the example you spewed) threw others off a building while "the majority" stand and watch because doing otherwise might get them thrown off of a building. You're assuming that "the majority" approve of the action when the reality is that they just don't want to be thrown off a building. Come on back when you have more than assumptions and straw men.
