That's an interesting idea. I think he'd put up fairly similar scoring numbers if he was putting up almost 9 3's a game and he had the moving screen weapon to give him several open looks. He probably wouldn't be as good overall but a younger JJ Redick would be a lot closer than some would want to believe offensively if he was in that situation.
I have a like/dislike feeling towards Klay but I'll put it this way: If Reggie Miller could lead an NBA team to the Finals, Klay Thompson should be able to as well. That being said, you're going to have to build an entire offense around Klay (as you would with any franchise-labeled player) and hide any deficiencies he has on the court much like what the Pacers did when they assemble their teams around Miller. Now am I saying Thompson is as clutch as Miller? Nope but we've seen, from this year's postseason, that Klay can take over the scoring burden when needed.
So you know something that all the stats don't? We have a several year sample size telling us he sucks
why didn't the NBA consult with astrosrule when announcing their all defensive teams and who represents it. Surely they didn't want anyone on their that just sucks and has no business being on their. What are they thinking
Klay and Leonard are the 2 best 2-way players in the league, I'd put LeBron in there too but he's getting up there in the age dept, not much room for improvement. Offensively harden and klay are pretty much dead even, defensively well we all know there's not much of comparison there.
Butler, Paul, George, Lebron, Westbrook, Milsap, Jordan, Davis are all better two way players than Klay freaking Thompson. If you actually believe that, then you are an idiot.
Not sure what you are getting at. Defensive teams are picked by random people, media members, coaches, former players, etc. They are often older and mostly oblivious to anything that isn't the "old" way of thinking about things. It's basically a bunch of Bill Worrell's.
so you believe Klay is just trash defensively is where I'm getting at. Bc that's my point and I've posted what I thought of klay previously in reply to your post in here this morning.
Yup. Klay is flat out a bad defensive player. Unless you think he plays in a bad system or with bad teammates and that makes his numbers look worse? That would be the only real arguement you could make
that's fine. Your answer at least tells me youre not as clueless as some others around here and I would have been pretty surprised to see you say otherwise. You can disregard my opinion however you want. Doesn't make you any more credible by just following advanced stats that are merely estimated numbers that can be very misinformed in many cases. I'm a firm believer in my ideology and critiques when it comes to game as I look at things more objectively rather than a bias. We won't always agree on everything.
But you don't watch nearly enough. Do you really watch every team play every game and watch video? How can you make a quality assessment of klay vs aminu or anyone else
