If the Rockets want to contend for a championship, then they'll have to find another player to add who is BETTER than Harden. I hate to say it, but I don't think that this team will ever win on a consistent and meaningful level until Harden is 1B/C. I was in the camp of hoping that Morey chases non top tier talent to actually build a roster, but after watching the heavyweights in the conference finals and finals, there's just no way to get all the way unless you have multiple guys who can get buckets at will and not disappear when the lights are brightest.
We do have a championship contending. It just needs a few tweaks and for everyone to be put in the right place.
We can do it guys Trade Beverley, Ariza for 2 late 1st Trade KJ, Dekker, Harrell for 3 early 2nds Trade Capela for a late lottery pick Combine those picks with with our 2 seconds, and a future 1st to trade up for the 3rd or 4th pick. Trade that for Jimmy buckets. Max Conley, resign Howard and WIN RINGSSSS. Conley Harden Butler Motie / Beasley Howard
100% this..... Iv always said George is the number one robin to Hardens batman. Obviously players like Lebron and KD would be great because they are 2 of the best 5 players on the planet. But if I could get any guy to team up with harden its Paul George and Kawi Leronard. Those guys are the perfect wing compliment to a player like James. PG is perfect because ultimately he's better served as a number two but he has the game of a number one just not quite effecient enough like players like harden curry lebron and KD. He's a stud on defenses and can guard 1-4. I actually think PG would have career numbers playing next to harden, they both haven't played with another superstar since they'v been the man on their respective teams. I would trade anything and everything for PG minus James. Any assets future assets anything. Back to Jimmy butler..... I have family in Chicago their big Bulls fans and they hate that guy and think he's the root of all there problems. There prob harder on him then some of you are here are on harden. With that said if we could get him I would because we need talent and a second scorer/playmaker. But he's not my first choice or second. He's got a big head and thinks he's amot better than he really is. He's a hard worker but he's not as good as maybe some would leave you to believe. I Watch a lot of Bulls games and often times he hi jacks the offesne and takes a bad Fade away 18 ft jumper like he's prime kobe. He's an ISO heavy player and not even close to hardens talent on that end.
Absolutely. We should go after him hard after next year, via trade or in free agency (i'm sure he's going to opt out and probably leave Indiana).
Kawhi, George, maybe even MKG if healthy would all be fantastic next to James. I think Butler at the 3 would be solid as well but I'm not sure how great it'd be. Either way, we're not getting any of those guys. Batum seems more realistic. I thought Trevor would be a great fit with Harden but iono. Trevor's game has soured on me a bit. Maybe is we could find a play making 4 that can also play d or protect the rim. No, Smith and Motiejunas aren't that 4. God, I wish we would had gotten a healthy Bosh or Millsap. Beverley-Harden-Ariza-Millsap-Dwight these past 2 seasons would have been sex. Not realistic, but that line up would be great.
I'd trade Harden, Brewer and Dekker for Butler, Mirotic and McDermott. Don't think the Bulls would do that though.
If they really love Trevor Ariza and Morey can manage to exchange everything not named Harden, BeasGod or Capela for picks it could work. Hey any insiders have any confirmation that the Hinkster is back in the fold? If he is we might actually have a chance this offseason
You're the third person to say this so I checked the synergy player tracking stats for Offensive Isolation Leaders on NBA.com. As expected Harden leads in Isolation frequency @ 24.2% with 566 possessions and 0.93 PPP. Butler is ranked #38 in frequency @ 12.3% with 169 possessions and 0.91 PPP. Yes he leads the Bulls in isolation frequency(DRose is next @ 9.7%) but saying he is an ISO heavy player is maybe a bit unfair when you compare it the guys with ISO frequency in the high teens or twenties. It looks like they only have this data for the 2015-2016 season so it's hard to see if Butler's play has changed much but as I see it DRose has been so bad that Butler has tried to step up and be the man on the Bulls during crunch time. Can't really blame the guy when the only other real option is Pau.
Not even worth discussing. Minnesota is offering the #5 AND players. Probably Lavine and/or Dieng. Boston would give up the 3rd pick for Butler in a heartbeat.
