Yeah, someone (don't remember who now) pointed out that of course Leonard can play the 2, but chasing smaller and faster players all year long is not that easy, and the Spurs are really cautious with their players...anyway, the Spurs can probably make everything work, in fact they kinda did already with LMA who is not exactly an easy player to fit in a sistem, even though this is a bit different, but still... That said, if Duncan (and Manu) retires, they will have a huge hole in the center spot, they'll need money and cap space to sign a center, and they cannot sign two double digit contracts if one of them is a max. And Duncan is one of the best 4/5 ever, they'll miss him big time anyway, an Ezeli/Biyombo type of player would be far from give them what Duncan did, hell, not even Pau is in the same category of Timmy. Add maybe/probably Manu and there's still Parker to talk about since he's also not looking good, his last two season are just not that good anymore, he's old, and he's going to decline even more since his game is/was tied to his speed/mobility. The Spurs will still be a big threat for next years, even if they don't sign Durant, but losing Duncan, Manu and Parker is huge.
Mean anything to me? Well.. at least it wouldn't be one of the most ridiculous posts of all time I guess. I clearly stated that I would trade the pick 10 for Capela AND Beverly and I clearly explained that it's because this draft class is horrible. Ofc I would give much more for Adams and Ibaka. Especially if Ibaka would resign next year. You say his youth isn't valued, but Adams is just one year older than Capela. We will see what happens. Right now the post by Bobby is incredibly ludicrous even worse than the crap he has been spewing in the DMO thread.
The Rockets will get a meeting out of respect...but Durant has no intention of playing here. That would be a step backward.
Wrong, just all wrong.....SPurs best fit Leonard at the 2 would be stupid on many levels...defensively mainly.
haha wut??? how can any sane person say that houston offers a better chance at winning a title than OKC?
Why do people talk like they know what the **** KD's intentions are? Thats the problem with this world, everyone thinks they know everything. Lets let things play out, Marc Stein dont know ****.
Maybe you are just caught up in the hype so you can't see clearly. Adams brings nothing on offense but is a tenacious defender, sure that has value, but if he had some kind of offense he might be somewhere close to what you seem to think he is. As to Ibaka, his overall defense is not very good despite the blocks and his offense fell off this season too. I think the reason some people like you overrate the role players on the Thunder is because they have to do so very little playing next to two superstars in order to look good. When you take a step back, you realize they aren't actually very good players. Hell the reason the Thunder lost the series despite being up 3-1 is because their role players gave them so very little in the final games. I think most people would realize that is just an obvious statement if they really thought about it. Of course right now not many people are capable of it due to being blinded by recency bias. The Rockets were bad recently, the Thunder looked good recently. If you go past that and realize why they looked bad or why they looked good, then you'd come to the obvious conclusion that the Rockets would be a better team with Harden, Durant, and an additional max FA than the Thunder would be with their current team. I can't help you if you can't see that obvious truth.
It's "obvious" that Harden, Durant and an additional max FA (whom we might not even get) is better than OKC's current team? Is Bobbythegreat high all the time or just during some parts of the day?
lol hes saying that type of stuff now. I don't think I've ever seen anything hes claimed or predicted ever being right on here. Its always a bunch of nonsense and when its already proven wrong, he comes up with excuses to dodge the actual results.
Somebody's panties are in a bunch. It's true we can't be 100% sure, but we have a pretty good idea of what he's looking for based on previous statements, his talent level, and age. Durant is looking for a situation that allows him to compete for titles year in and year out. What about the Houston Rockets organization suggests that they are anywhere close to being able to compete for a title in the foreseeable future?
Well, having a guy like Harden on the team long term and being able to add Durant and an additional max FA this offseason would make most people realize that they could compete for a title as quickly as next season if Durant went to Houston.....then again, we can't expect everyone to be able to figure that out.
What durant said? he wants to have fun playing with great people and be around friends and family. That would be either OKC wizards or rockets Compete? Young Harden + young durant + young WB = finals Durant + WB = 3rd seed + wcf Players MVP harden = 2nd seed + wcf Prime harden + prime durant + near max fa = closer to a ring than durant with WB
.......I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Hype? Adams even last year was 30 times the defender than Capela was and is. There's not even a start of a comparison to be made with Ibaka and Capela at this point. Their difference is that big. I feel bad talking all the time about the kid but when you have delusional people hyping him up that much, COMPARING him repeatedly to the likes of Ibaka then someone has to say something. Anyway enough. I won't keep this crazy conversation. You are obviously even more delusional about Capela than you are about DMO. There's nothing getting through your obsession.
Fair enough, I know not to talk player evaluation with some people. You clearly are one of those people that simply don't get it. Hopefully one day you'll get better and then we can have these kinds of conversations but till then I'll just have to accept that the best you can do is woefully inadequate for intelligent conversation.
I could see Durant and Harden both being able to score 40 points in a game on the same team. Too bad Durant can't see it
Adams has played 5,000 minutes, compared to Clint's 1,500 minutes. Clint is also more than a year younger. I would assume if you take Capela at the end up next season and compare him to Adams right now they would be pretty even as far as impact.
I agree that Adams is better than Capela but it's kind of not fair. Adams played college ball and has played an extra year in the NBA. Prior to this season he wasn't really any good just a guy who played hard was big and would use his size to body guys up. You mike of have to see how capela plays this upcoming season befoe you can say Forsure if capela is a simalar or better player. But capela 2nd year avg 7/7 in 19 min was better than Adams, deandre Jordan's, Bismack byiombo just to name a few and all those guy are 15+ mil a year guys. Once again im not arguing with anyone on if Adams is better than Clint because he is and I'd trade capela right now for Adams if that was an option. But capela is actually a lot better talent than a lot of you are giving him credit. The guy started playing basktball late like 15 years old I believe, he didn't playe at all in his first year and came in his 2 year and played 19 min a game as the primary bigman backup. Hes shown enough flashes to think he could develop into a very nice starting center. His abilty to crash the offensive glass is underrated as is his abilty to beat other bigs down the floor. He also developed the abilty to take the pass off the split take one dribble and pass to the corners for open threes. Dwights been in the league 12 years and still can't do this. I just don't understand why so many are down on capela. Sure he had a lot of mmoments were he was unplayable but he also had some games were he won us games and was our 2nd best player. He's a solid rebounder and Id bet he puts up a double double this year with 2blks if he gets 28+ min a game. He need to work on his defensive awareness and also his FT shooting which I think he can he has a nice shot with good soft touch and form. He also needs to cut back in the fouls. It takes these centers a few years to grasp the league it's fast and hard for them defensively. But capela has shown the abilty to dunk rebound and weak side Blk and thats what you want out of a young center.
