First, the overwhelming majority of the guns they have looked into from Mexican homicides could not be tracked, of those that could, about half come from the US (some directly from the ATF ).

Second, they whole point of bringing up Mexico, which you have just demonstrated, is that if city bans are not good enough because you can go outside the city, and state bans are not good enough, because you can go to another state, why would national bans work? Couldn't you buy from another country, like Mexico can from the US? Unless there is no global market for firearms, prohibition is not going to eliminate them, much like prohibition doesn't significantly reduce drug use in the United States. Have you ever heard the term gun runner? What about arms trafficking?

Finally, let's say that whatever gun control law is passed (assault weapons ban, high capacity magazine ban, outright ban on private ownership), who do you imagine we will find in possession of illegal, black market firearms? Do you think it will be John Doe, trying to protect his family and maybe plink a bit at the range? I think it is more likely to be gangs and terrorists myself, but that is just a guess.

Wow. I wondered about the b*stard possibly being in denial about his sexual orientation, but didn't post it because I thought something like that was pure speculation, and it could still be, of course. Instead of simply being at peace with who he was, whatever he was, he had to go out and buy an assault rifle and a handgun so he could murder and maim dozens of innocent people. There has to be a way to prevent so-called human beings like him from purchasing firearms, much less working for a security firm. I hope they investigate the hell out of that company he worked for. They dropped the ball, to put it mildly.

It's certainly not impossible. I think his self-loathing fed the radical religious views, though, if this is all true, not the other way around. It's weird, regardless, weird and terrible. Many a doctoral dissertation will be written about this monster.

 

Even if he was gay, what would motivate him to shoot up a gay club, could it be that his radical side persuade him to do it. Where's that Cell Phone footage of Isis tossing gays off a rooftop. Might have been better if they weeded out this guy and tossed him off a rooftop to prevent this carnage....

I'm thinking this guy broke up with another guy at the club he was having relations with. The other guy takes pics of him having a good time at the club and threatens to get the images to his family and friends.......
