Here's your first post in this thread: Do you consider those to be snide remarks? You should follow your own advice and don't belittle and insult other posters. Otherwise you need to learn to take it back as well as you give it. That's was tame stuff for even this bbs but don't start that way if you don't want to get the same tone in return. You have continued to spew things that are factually incorrect and when it's pointed out you either ignore it or you question it and then you turn around and come up with something else factually incorrect. Whether it sounds right to you or not GS is #4 in the league in ISOs. That's a fact and it's not in question and it can't really be interpreted any other way. Same case. You stated that Harden dominated touches. That's tracked by the NBA so I posted the actuals and showed that you were incorrect. Again, not open to interpretation, it's a fact. That's how many times he touches the ball. Next you came back and said that you didn't mean touches (though that's what you said) but instead mean holding the ball. Again that's a stat that the NBA tracks and you were again wrong. Those are actual number of how long Harden holds the ball per touch. He's nowhere near the top half of the primary ball handlers in the league in that category. It's not really debatable, it's not open to interpretation. The and1 claim was another claim where you were 100% wrong but I do commend you for acknowledging that one. You made a point that contained an example of how you think Harden's FG% should effectively be counted. In that example you count his turnovers as shots. That's what I was pointing out. There's no case where you'd ever count a turnover as a shot. It wasn't in the context of overall efficiency, it was a very specific example that you gave of calculating FG%. Counting a TO (which is generally a pass) as shots when calculating FG% for a player that you obviously don't like? What am I suppose to think. As for the and1 comment that you said you didn't understand. I wasn't saying that Harden shouldn't try to finish at the rim. The stats show that he does indeed try to finish and in fact he's #4 in the league at doing that. My point is that it's foolish to focus on something that happens so infrequently as being significant. Harden could double the number of and1's that he gets and it wouldn't make much difference. Sorry if you got your feelings hurt. My advice to you is to check your facts before making claims. Fans always have perceptions about what they think happens but often those perceptions have no basis in reality. If you state something as fact then I can guarantee you that somebody here will verify it's validity. It takes maybe 2 to 3 minutes to verify most facts at stats.nba.com. I don't feel that it's too much to expect of posters to put in that much effort when trying to post something as fact. If you don't then in all likelihood you'll get called on it and spend much more time replying to annoying posters like me.
Allen Leavell: <iframe src="http://embed.radio.com/clip/60625410?ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhouston.cbslocal.com%2F2016%2F06%2F13%2Fallen-leavell-rockets-need-a-lot-of-work-to-become-contenders-again%2F&station_id=3&rollup_ga_id=UA-2438645-53&ads_ga_page_tracker=UA-20550966-5" width="345px" height="194px" scrolling="no"></iframe> ...(starting from 13 minute mark)... What do you think about James Harden? Unbelievable talent. He goes to the basket as well & finishes as well as anyone I've ever seen. In the offense they have, it's so stagnated. He has the ball too much. It keeps anything fluid from happening with them. They have to struggle too hard to score. Are they keeping him happy too much? I don't know if that's the case or not. I don't know much. I haven't been there. I don't know what the issues are. I think they made it so much around him, maybe everyone else is suffocating a tad. It's all about him. He does a lot for the team. These days, you can't win with just one big star. Thoughts on Dwight Howard? A great big man today? Good big man? Can the Rockets win with him? I do give him a good big man. Greatness is there to be had. He has one of the greatest bodies I've ever seen. Greatness is there to be had. Dream is supposed to be working with him. He should be a lot better than he is. He hasn't progressed much since he was in Orlando. When he was in Orlando, I thought the sky was the limit and would be one of the best big man in the game ever. Mike D'Antoni hire? When he was with Phoenix, he had a great team and they played great as a team. I'm hoping he can repeat that here but from the top up, they've made too many moves. They haven't let a team grow. It's almost a new team every year. How do you play well together if it's new all the time? Hakeem in his prime, Moses too, the other are all equal. How does it play out? That's tough. Dream did so much. Steals, blocks, assists, he did so much and was such a competitor. He got that from Moses. Moses took him under his wing & taught him. What Mo did, at his size, what he did was scary. How overpowing he was. That speed, quickness & relentless. Never seen anyone as relentless going after a ball on a rebound ever. Now answer the question. I'm telling you I could flip a coin and it wouldn't matter either way. They're both the best. What do the Rockets need to do to turn it around? It's hard to say about a team but I've seen them play: they don't get back on defense. You're a pro. I don't think they're committed enough. I know I wasn't able to do that when I played. Coach would grab you, I don't care who you were, you're hitting the bench. They'll have one on four on a fastbreak. ... Effort, you gotta be hungry. Can D'Antoni establish that culture? You got to. He's not cut from that cloth. How much can an assistant play a role in the defense? You can't be any more offensive minded than Golden State but they play defense. It doesn't matter that he's an offensive coach. This has to be your culture. You go play hard, you go play to win.
loooooooooooooolllll, we had the same team plus lawson and thornton. Did he even watch the team once ?
No matter who says it... the harden huthuggers are still going to insist that Harden is the messiah...
i agree that the frequency of Harden ISOs last year was out of control. But... these old heads never suggest who they think should/could have created offense on the squad last season.
I remember it was just last month I was thinking.. "hmm, I wonder what Robert Reid and Allan Leavell think about Harden and the Rockets?" And now I know!!! Thanks guys!
Since you were calling out Harden Huthuggers, I looked for an image of a hut, trying to help you out. This was the best I could find: With the best I could find being the Hula Hut here in Austin, I figured an image of a Hula Hoop was called for, image below: Hope I helped you out!
He lost all credibility when he said (back on page 1 of this thread) that JBB "did a tremendous job". The more he speaks, the worse he makes himself look.
