Well, having worked in management with unstable people, they were petrified of getting sued to death by him. Talk to any lawyer, and the first question for the workplace for a nutter is "has he directly threatened anyone with physical harm." "No, he just fantasizes about violence and is creepy as ****." "Well, you can't legally do anything about that." It's so so screwed up. Even the nutters who don't go on rampages like this can ruin lots of lives and careers.
I've said it before and I'll say it now. Trying to imagine this happening and being there is just surreal. Being in a place like that, where people are just there to have fun. Or a school etc. and that starts happening out of nowhere. Unfathomale
There is something seriously screwed up about that. Somehow, that needs to get fixed. I'm against the restrictions now imposed on the average Texan to sue a company, or an individual, because they were injured in a accident or by a product, or through negligence, for example, but security guards? A slightly different standard needs to be applied there, in my opinion. I don't want to upend the constitutional apple cart, but what happened in Florida makes it clear that it's a problem that needs to be addressed.
Obama's bungling middle east policy and support for islamic rebels fighting against secular dictators gave rise to ISIS and its widespread influence, including self-radicalization. Hillary prides herself on wanting to continue Obama's policies. If Hillary becomes president you can count on a continuation of our weak foreign policy. Trump is the only hope in this election to put things on the right course. Prayers for all the victims of this tragedy.
We should try to keep the D&D comments in D&D, people. The presidential race doesn't belong in this discussion, in my opinion.
Once you start getting to a 1,000 people in any kind of venue, it's going to take a while for people to exit. Sometimes as long as 10 minutes. So yeah, the first 10 minutes a shooter pretty much has easy pickings because the panic created will actually slow things down.
The attack is disturbing. This person was obviously mentally disturbed. He was obviously vile and evil. Is this any more preventable than Dylann Roof? Adam Lanza? I don't know if it could have Beyond some sort of gun control? Even if we say better mental health . . . what exactly have we done since Lanza to improve mental health in this country. No matter what excuses or reason or options suggests or actions suggested We have not done ANY of them We have no better gun control We have no better mental health plans and initiatives Racism has not decreased Homophobia has not decreased Sexism has not decreased America simply is NOT getting better . . . at least not at an acceptable rate Rocket River
not directed at you RR, but I find it almost comical that a lot of the same people who make these proclaimations about treating mental health in this country are often the same ones applauding those whose brains tell them they need to chop off their penis to feel "whole". Mental health in this country will never be taken seriously as long as people worry so much about offending those with mental illness that they wont even acknowledge it's a disease
Why do people insist on saying people who kill must have a mental illness? Some people are just evil, brainwashed, don't care about life, etc. it's ignorant.
because it is an attempt to deflect blame from the attacker's upbringing, personal, and environmental factors that led to the incident. It's like how we fired McHale to deflect blame away from the fact that we were a piss poorly constructed team of misfit talent. or that we have a owner who continuously signs off on the bullcrap that the front office consistently lays out every season because of their analytics. yes McHale was not the answer, but he was not the main issue.
why are we even arguing here...I read on the news america is averaging one mass shooting a month, that is seriously F**ked up... something needs to be done about gun ownership...at least how can we prevent nutters like this from getting their hands on guns. Anyway...RIP those that were killed...God bless all those who are affected. Prayers
If I was a young student, getting a masters in psychology would be ideal. People need therapy and as much counseling as they can get.
