Co-worker on Mateen. "He would never have more than 3 or 4 sentences without using the word n****r or queer or dike. It was always about violence." https://mobile.twitter.com/DavidOvalle305
I think its more of a question of if he was just some guy that became obsessed with ISIS and wanted to do something extreme or if he was actively a member of ISIS and if they were helping him coordinate the attack.
Yeah, in simple terms..."Copy Cat" murderer vs ISIS member terrorist The difference is one is a guy acting on his own and by him seeing acts of ISIS (or other terrorist groups) elevates the bar of violence within him to do harm to an extreme. The other is evidence that ISIS has cells of operations on US soil and we need to investigate his ties looking for a network. The difference in FBI action would be they close the case on this one guy, versus Paris experiencing coordinated attacks and rooting out further ties to the attacks post 11.13.15.

Can anyone debunk this guys theory on the amount of ammo needed to kill 50 and wound another 50

There were multiple shooters in #Orlando. Fact. Do the math on number of rounds needed to kill 50 and wound 53. ^^ that's some stupid math. A soldier is not in a crowded night club. You can't apply ammo required for kills in combat to a packed night club. It can be debunked simply by the police counting the rounds. But I suppose this is a conspiracy, so he'd say the police are lying. [edit] doesn't mean they aren't looking for another shooter. Forensics would say how many weapons were used, too.
The amount of ammo needed for fighting soldiers in a theater of war vs shooting civilians in a crowded building are two completely different things.
According to ak15.com, one loaded magazine is 15oz http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=294622 So, 1000 rounds (33 mags) would weigh 30 lbs. Not sure how much space that fills, but the weight wouldn't be an issue. And that's assuming he needed that many. I'm sure a lot of those who were murdered were unable to escape and he walked up to them. Night clubs would have doors jammed with people trying to escape. Recall the Great White concert fire, people couldn't escape a fire, because the escape routes were packed. Can't believe I'm taking the time to debunk some stupid math. In any event, the police will be able to determine from forensics how many weapons were used.
That's just flat out stupid. I'm pretty sure they got their numbers by showing how many rounds are shot and then dividing that up by how many are killed but that's an awfully dumb way of looking at it given that it counts a sniper's bullet equally with that of a saw providing cover fire. In a densely populated club, it wouldn't take all that much ammo to mow down that many people given that an AR round is likely to go through more than one person every single time. With an AR and a handgun, it would be like a shooting gallery, you could easily kill 50+ and wound another 60+ with 100 or 200 rounds because you almost couldn't miss.
Part of the reason the military uses the much smaller .223 round is because of how light it is compared to the .308, in fact you can carry twice as much .223 ammo as .308 ammo for the same amount of weight. It's why the military essentially uses a varmint round instead of something more powerful.
