Florida Night Club Shooting - at least 20 dead - impact on US elections?

I'm trying to think of any question to which the answer is "Donald Trump would be just the thing that situation really needs"

 

I think the targets were picked specifically but on some of them he flat out told his guys to kill people that were being held hostage.

Good thing we have SamFisher to come and solve all our Islamic terrorism problems with a ban on a specific type of guns. Pretty sure the Tsarnaev bros could still do their thang, though, so you may have a flaw in your logic.

 

That's certainly everyone's favorite boogieman, but very few people are killed with them every year so it really won't do very much. In fact, we've done this before, we banned assault rifles including AR-15's in the 90's for a decade and it was determined that it had no effect on violent crime rates.

Either way, It won't really affect me, I have 3 of them and I make my own ammunition so they can feel free to ban away if they want. It wont really do anything positive, but let's face it, that's not really even the goal. People just want to do something to say they did something.

What do you think is a better use of an AR 15 - killing first graders in Connecticut or gays in Florida?

 

Would it be better if the weapons that were used were banned? Did the fact that the weapons used in France were illegal make those people less dead? Did the illegal bombs make those who were killed less dead?

Is the history of prohibition in America such a positive one that you think it would work in this instance any better than it works in any other instance?

Even if it did work, would those gays or first graders be less dead if shot by a handgun or non assault rifle?

I'm not really sure what point you are trying to make here.

At this point. How could you even take guns away from people.

There are so many out there that all it would do is make people more vulnerable to attacks like this mornings.

Probably the worst thing about SamFisher's meltdown is that it's motivated by this event helping Trump. Forget about the horrific tragedy that just occurred and the people impacted. He has become so incredibly partisan that the only thing on his mind is the political ramifications of the event. After listening to Obama speak on the topic today, it sounds like he takes the same approach. Just sickening.

Only a fool would think that banning AR-15s solves this problem, or even helps it. Disarming the populace only makes the law abiding citizens less safe -- the law breakers will continue to have guns. It's time to be honest about the real problem, which is the radicalization of young Muslim men. SamFisher is showing his true colors today, and they are really ugly.

These Americans didn't die in vain. They died to remind folks that all American's are protected by the constitution's right to bear arms. Even American's suspected of being involved with radical islam. Maybe we should allow CHL's in bars too now.

Actually, no one is suggesting we do nothing. That's the type of strawman argument that Obama would put forth in defending his horrible track record on ISIS and defending our country against terrorism. A couple of pages ago I laid out some very insightful policy recommendations to help correct this problem that Obama has created through his weak leadership and absolutely failed foreign policy efforts. Do you remember when Obama referred to ISIS as the JV team? That JV team just killed 50 people. What a national disgrace Obama's leadership has been in regard to the fight against ISIS.

Below are my recommendations on how to fight this problem, pasted here again for your convenience.
1. Increased online vigilance against ISIS and radical Islamic terrorist related communications. In several, if not all, of the mass shootings that we've seen, there has been some type of cyber trail and we need to learn from.
2. Forget about people's feelings. Profile. It's obvious that the greatest risk to carry out a terrorist attach such as this morning is young Muslims. Yes there are isolated examples where the shooter was not a young Muslim, but odds are, this is the most likely group to commit these atrocities. Watch these people very closely. Look for trends to serve as an early warning system.
3. Carefully monitor the immigration into this country -- be it legal or illegal -- to ensure that we are not taking undue risk as our population changes.
4. Destroy all traces of ISIS in the Middle East. Utterly destroy them and apologize to no one.
5. Work with Muslim groups domestically and globally to eliminate the hateful imams and leaders to try to get the radical portion of the religious group under control.
