man, that double play just nipped the runner, and was executed as quickly and flawlessly as possible by all three of the fielders, including white with the stretch. i'd bet that's a successful dp maybe 1/4 of the time at best.
True...not sure if Correa could have rifled that final DP throw like Marwin...and Marwin batting in front of Altuve was key as well. Tough to say if it would have helped us or hurt us for today. I do agree that White blows.
And the entire game would have gone differently so we have no idea what would have happened, thus it was for the best that Marwin played today since they won.
When Correa comes back, should we keep MarGo in the two hole against righties? It balances out the lineup and may help create more big innings. Springer RF MarGo 1B Altuve 2B Correa SS Rasmus LF Valbuena 3B Gattis DH Gomez/Marisnick CF Castro C
i don't think most managers change the top of the batting order for handedness, especially if it's not for an elite hitter. some players bat better with consistency/familiarity with their place in the lineup. with that said, probably have to see a larger sample size.
And Marwin has been MUCH better vs Lefties than Righties, both this year and in the past. He had a great game today, but truthfully Marwin should only be playing vs LHP if we have more than a middle of the pack lineup
heard stat that we were on top of the league last season with 115 different lineups. and carlos delgado.
Can't really deal with that when you're not playing at the moment lol. I hate scoreboard watching, especially this early on in the season, seems stupid, but never hurts to wish the Rangers some L's.
Why are people saying Correa wouldn't have made that turn for the DP yesterday? He's got a cannon for an arm. Unless you're referring to the accuracy? Even still, I believe he'd have made the play.
Because a certain percentage around here think negatively first and foremost Heck some idiot was saying he is a bust here recently CF posters will be CF posters
Still no CC. Bet we see him on Tuesday. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Today's Astros lineup <a href="https://t.co/axBify8myc">pic.twitter.com/axBify8myc</a></p>— Jake Kaplan (@jakemkaplan) <a href="https://twitter.com/jakemkaplan/status/741996715650260992">June 12, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We can't free Kemp but at least Jake provides some speed at the bottom of the order that worked well last homestand.
