Thats why i ALSO blame Hinch, is his responsibility, why do we continue to have worse third base coach in baseball??

Why do we have a manager that looks like almost all games he is out managed?

Why do we lose so many 1 run games?? Why can't we win on the road??? Reflection of the manager.

We need a LEADER, that will be tough. Also a smart, former catcher well regarded as a bright future manager. Lets go after him.

Our beloved pest STILL defending the team. Well, look at what Prince has done this year and what happened last series? He KILLED US.

This team is just bad. You have a rotation with 4 guys over 5 ERA, and had a closer with an ERA over 4, and a 7th inning guy with an ERA over 6.

Also, a lineup with guys in the .230 or lower, at least 3 or 4 positions??? C, 1b, LF, CF

When is enough? When is time to play Kemp FULL TIME???? Yes, I know, ALSO hitting under .220 but he needs consistent at bats to see what he can or can't do. He does walk, which would be good hitting 9th.
It is time for a change at 1b, bring Reed.
It is time to have Devenski in the starting rotation.

Oh Archer is certainly a pitcher i'd love to have on the Astros

Just cracks me up how dramatic some posters are. When I hear things like

We have no chance against Archer, I have to laugh. He has great stuff, but also has a 4.70 era, so like I say I would love to have him, but he is hardly a death sentence right now.

And then I hear how horrible our offense is....we are 13th in baseball in runs scored. Nowhere near as good as I would like us to be, and far from being an elite offense with so many sub .250 hitters....but still in the top half of baseball in scoring runs. And it's not "lucky" runs or anything like that. We are 15th in team OPS, 15th in OB%....we are a mediocre offense, which again isn't what we want, but if someone didn't watch a single game and only came on here to see how the Astros were doing, you would think we were the Braves or Phillies

So basically Rogers is just another Gonzalez/Heineman/Perez

The reactions are reflective of expectations. If we had only won 70-75 games last year, this year would be viewed as a step in the right direction (except for Dallas K.).

No, things are not as dyer as the general mood of posters would indicate.

But most of the complaints do need addressing if we are to become division contenders.

They do generally suck at getting runners in - no one is denying that - it's just that the 'adding up' of players left on base is not indicative of a team's ability to score. The 3 runs with 17 base runners is the true indication.

For example, coincidentally, the Red Sox also had 17 base runners last night and scored 8 runs. They left 26 runners on base using the add 'em up method.

Really tired of seeing Rasmus in the lineup.

Put Kemp in there and let him bat 9th. He has great at bats.

This seemed to be working and now Kemp can't get any AB's there. We need Kemp in the 9 spot, Correa back, make a trade, bring up Bregman. It's so easy to get this team rolling before the all-star break.

The Mariners could do work on the Rangers and maybe we could gain two games before Monday.

    But we gotta do something...

I really don't get this lineup again... atrocious.

There are no guarantees in this line-up. It's just Hinch praying his guys start playing better.

    Agree

But Hinch had few good options until luhnow gives him some help

I would have Castro batting second and Kemp in for Gomez

Would still not be a very good lineup though

Wrong thread for this discussion, but very similar to Gonzalez, but has more power. Heineman is a better hitter, but less defensively. I do think he'd be similar to Carlos Perez.
